Hello friends! I'm excited to be joining Altenew for their new marker release blog hop today. The blog hop starts on the Altenew Card Blog and the Altenew Scrapbook Blog.
Today I have four cards to share with you (well actually five as I have two versions of one of the cards!) using the NEW Artist Markers Sets. I love that they have come out with two new sets to grow my collection. These markers are AWESOME! I love the color selection they have and how well they blend. The tips are nice as they have the perfect coloring tips that Copic has, but they also have a fine tip unlike a Copic marker (and who ever uses the other tip on the Copics anyway?!?!). I love that they are offering an alternative alcohol based marker for way less of the cost and they work just as good if not better! Ok, so now for all of my projects using these new markers:
Card 1:
For this card, I started with a white cardstock rectangle and then I stamped the flowers from the Charmed Stamp set in a light tan ink so I could color the images with no lines. I stamped it twice on the top of the card and once on the bottom overlapping the edges. I colored the images in with the Altenew Markers from Set A (G702, G705, G554, B201, B313, B227)) and Set B (C001, Y205). I colored the flowers in with the lighter blue colors first and then used the darkest color to outline them and add dots around the edges. I used the yellows to color in the inside of each flower and the three greens on the leaves.
Next, I used some markers from the new Artist Markers Set B (WG01, WG03, WG05) to add shadows around each image. I stamped a sentiment from the set in blue ink on a white cardstock stitched banner and then outlined it with a glitter marker so it stood out more. I also used glitter markers to add some details and shading to all the images. I attached the sentiment and added some Tonic blue glitter drops to finish the card.
Card 2:
I used the Blooming Bouquet Stamp Set for this card. I stamped the main floral grouping on the bottom left of a white cardstock rectangle. I used a light color of ink again so I could use a no-line stamping technique (because that is my favorite way to color stamped images!). I colored the image in with markers from Artist Markers Set A (G702, G715, G554), Set B (C001, Y205, Y612, C002, R702, R823) and Set C (R902, B002, B016, Y204). After I was done coloring them in, I decided they needed some outlines, so I used a fine tip black marker to outline them and then added some shading and details with glitter pens.
I used the gray markers from Set C (WG01, WG03, WG05) to add shading around these flowers as well and also added some dots. I stamped Thank You from the Adore You stamp set with blue ink on the top of the card and added a shadow with a blue glitter pen. I added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins around the flowers and sentiment.
Card 3:
I definitely fell in love with the Adore You stamp set when I used it for this card (yes, I adore adore you! ha). I stamped all the images with a light tan ink again randomly on the top and bottom of the card. I then colored them in with Artist Markers from Set A (G702, G715), Set B (C001, Y205, Y612, Y823), and Set C (Y204, R056). I used a brown glitter pen for the center of each flower.
I stamped the sentiment with brown ink in the middle of the card. I wanted it to stand out more so I used a brown glitter marker to add shadows to each letter (but I must admit, I didn't like the way this pen looked, but I didn't want to start this card over so here you go anyway!). I added some Tonic gold glitter drops around the sentiment.
Card 4:
I used the Bamboo Rose stamp set for this card. After I finished the card, I realized I didn't like the butterfly on the top as much as I liked the flowers on the bottom. So I decided to try a card with just the flowers which is below. But back to this card! I stamped all the images with tan ink on white cardstock and then I colored them all in with Artist Markers from Set A (G702, G715, G554), Set B (C001, Y205), and Set C (R400, R301, R101, R403, R206, R217).
I also colored the background in with the lightest shades of each color. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set on a white cardstock banner and outlined it with a red glitter pen. I added some Tonic Nuvo Drops in Rose Water and Strawberry Coulis around the flowers and on the banner.
Card 5:
This is my second version of a card with the Bamboo Rose stamp set. This time I covered the entire background with the roses and colored them all in with the same colors from the Artist Markers Set A (G702, G715, G554) and Set C (R400, R301, R101, R403, R206, R217). I colored in the background as well with the lightest shades.
I stamped the sentiment on a white stitched rectangle with a matching ink color and outlined the letters with a red glitter pen. I added some Tonic Nuvo Drops in the same two colors as the last card around the sentiment.

I love all of your cards, but #3 is absolutely stunning. I am gradually adding Altenew inks to my stash and I have these colors but I'm thinking I may need to add these markers to add to my Copic coloring alternatives.
