When I received the SSS November Card Kit, I was so amazed by it's contents that I thought it must be a special kit like the ones they do periodically. I read the letter with it and yep, it was just a regular card kit. The stamp set is HUGE and the papers - oh the papers. I'll quit rambling and just show you the kit - here is an image of it:
I am doing a "one stamp, five ways" blog post today focusing on ways to use the stamp, but I am only using the kits contents for each of my five cards. So let's get started! And just remember one thing as you go through this blog post - the kit was released on Friday night at 12:00 am est and they sell out QUICK. I have no doubt this one will sell out quicker than usual! Ok, the cards...
This gorgeous embossed ivory floral paper is in the kit. I die-cut it using a stitched rectangle (full card size) and the Simon Says Stamp Scallop Stitches Die. I die-cut the scallop edge multiple times so I could layer the pieces on an ivory card front (I had to cut a second partial stitched rectangle to get enough pieces to cover the front). Next I stamped all of the images on Neenah white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink (my favorite ink for no line coloring). I colored them in with Copic Sketch Markers and added shading with Kaiser Craft Glitter Pens.
I fussy cut around the flower images. I used the deign the kit for the word "kind" and I stamped and embossed it with Simon Says Stamp Gold Embossing Powder. I stamped the other part of the sentiment with Delicata Golden Glitz Ink. I arranged all of the flowers around the sentiment. I added some of the gold leaf sequins as well (from the kit). I finished it with some Pretty Pink Posh Metallic Rose Gold Sequins.
CARD 2:
This is my "random stamping" card. I die-cut a stitched rectangle out of Ranger Watercolor paper. I embossed the flowers and leaves from the stamp set with Ranger white embossing powder. I always use my Misti for random stamping so I can stamp most of the images at one time. I painted in all of the images with Daniel Smith watercolors. I painted the background with a wet on wet technique using blue watercolor. I used my glitter pens to add details and shading.
I stamped the word kindness with Versamark Ink and embossed it with American Crafts Mustard embossing powder. I cut around the word. I die-cut a banner from watercolor paper using MFT Blueprints 2 dies. I watercolored the banner yellow and then stamped the sentiment with black ink. I layered the word on top of the banner on the top of the card. I finished it with a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins and some Tonic Nuvo Drops in Dandelion and Sherbet Shimmer.
CARD 3:
I started this card by die-cutting a stitched rectangle from the gold and white striped paper in the kit (my favorite of all the gorgeous papers). I stamped the large kind with flowers around it stamp on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink. I colored the image in with Copic Markers. I outlined them with my glitter and metallic pens from my 48 pack! I outlined the word KIND with a Gold Uniball marker.
I cut around the stamped image and attached it to the front of the card. I added some Tonic Nuvo Drops in Strawberry Coulis. I added a few more drops in Golden Sunset Glitter Drops. I added some of the gold leafs and a gold heart sticker from the kit. I also added a sub-title with the same Golden Glitz ink.
CARD 4:
This card is just to show a totally different look by using only the stamp set and a different color palette. I stamped the images in a half wreath shape using SSS Intense Black Ink. I colored all of them in with Copic Markers. I die-cut the word KIND and stamped it with the same black ink and also colored with Copics.
I also added some color around the flowers with light colored Copic Markers. I used Tonic Nuvo Drops to fill in open spaces in Blue Lagoon, Key Lime, and Caribbean Ocean. I also added some PPP Clear Sequins. I attached the word kind and then used my Misti to stamp the rest of the sentiment.
CARD 5:
I used one of my other favorite papers in this kit for this card. I die-cut a stitched rectangle out of it using the PPP Stitched Notes dies. I cut another piece using the SSS Scallop Stitched Die. I die-cut another rectangle out of watercolor paper. On the inside piece, I stamped the large KIND stamp that is surrounded by flowers. I used SSS Antique Gold Embossing Powder. I painted it with watercolors.
I attached the patterned paper frame and the inside piece to an ivory card base. I attached the other piece of paper to the top with the scallop edge. I added a sub-title using the same gold ink to the side of it. I added some Tonic Nuvo Drops in Metallic Copper Penny.
And that my friends in the new SSS card kit - pretty gorgeous, huh? I have LOTS of leftover papers and I could make another 5-10 cards using this kit if I had the time! I hope you enjoy it as much as I have and happy stamping friends! Suzy</p
Gorgeous!!! The advantage to being up early recovering from two days of sleeping from fever is I grabbed this kit before it sells out!!! 👌❤️
