Hello friends - can you believe it is almost Fall already?!?!?! I live in sunny CA so we don't really have "seasons" - it is almost always warm. I do wish we had the beautiful fall leaves to make Fall really come to life though! Pretty Pink Posh just released a new product line that definitely got me in the mood for Fall and Halloween! Now I must be honest, Halloween is NOT my favorite holiday. In fact, I'm not a big fan as I don't like scary or dark in anyway - not even scary movies. BUT, I do really like candy corn and CUTE Halloween decorations and costumes! So when I saw this darling Trick or Treat Friends stamp and die set, I definitely wanted to play with it! So today's "one stamp, five ways" post uses this new darling set. Here is an image of the stamp set:
See, even the Frankenstein isn't scary - just cute! I've made five cards with this stamp set, but I'll only be showing you four today with just a sneak of the fifth card as it will be on the Pretty Pink Posh blog soon with directions. So let's get started!
Card 1:
To make the background of this card, I started with a stitched rectangle out of watercolor paper. I then painted the moon and the sky with Daniel Smith watercolors. I die-cut another stitched rectangle the same size and then used the new Stacked Edges 1 Dies to create the ground. I painted that green. I attached those pieces over the background. Next, I stamped the images from the stamp set with MFT Natural Ink and watercolored them as well. I added details and outlines/shading with my Kaiser Craft glitter/gel pens and a white uniball marker.
I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set with Versamark Ink using my Misti and then embossed it with White Ranger Embossing Powder. I love how the white stands out on the background. I used PPP Sparkling Clear Star Sequins over the sky. I finished it with some Gloss White Nuvo Drops.
Card 2:
I wanted this card to appear like a house with a door and window. I started with a stitched rectangle and then die-cut the Mini Storybook 1 Die from the center. I painted the outside area of the die and the top of the card brown so it looked like a house with a door and windows. I painted the ground green for grass and the inside pieces gray as the inside of a dark house. I then stamped all of the little images on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink. I then colored them in with Copic markers and added details and outlines with glitter pens.
I put some foam tape behind the right side of the door so it looks like it is slightly open and I used the star circle stamp as the doorknob. I cut the bottom half of Frankenstein off and positioned him inside one of the windows. I stamped Happy Halloween on a stitched rectangle from the Mini Storybook 1 Die die-cut from green cardstock. I used Versamark Ink and brown embossing powder. I positioned a second rectangle from white cardstock behind it as a shadow so it popped more. Last, I added some brown sequins and some Gold Tonic Nuvo drops. I also used Silver Drops on the doorknob star.
Card 3:
This card was on the PPP Blog last week and there are directions on how I made it there if you want to check it out HERE. I started with a stitched rectangle cut from watercolor paper. I then stamped all of the images on it with MFT Natural Ink. I painted them in with watercolors and added details and outlines with glitter pens. I painted the background in with orange paint and a lot of water so it is super light.
I used the Mini Storybook 1Die again for the stitched rectangle. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark Ink and embossed it with white embossing powder. I used black cardstock and then die-cut a second rectangle from yellow cardstock to layer them. I finished it with some Sparkling Clear Sequin Mix.
Card 4:
I made this shaker card by starting with a stitched rectangle die-cut from white cardstock. I used my new Ranger Distress Oxide Inks on it with a Ranger Blending Tool (colors I used are in the supply list). I die-cut a window using the PPP Window Frame die set. I cut a scrap of paper in the shape of a curve to use to block the top and the bottom of the card while I rubbed the inks on it. I used foam tape behind the front and then created a shaker card. I rubbed some more Distress Oxide Inks on the inside piece to represent a moon. I used Star Sequins inside the shaker.
I stamped the images on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and then colored them in with Copic markers and glitter pens. I attached them to the top of the card. I embossed the sentiment on the bottom of the card with white embossing powder. I added some more stars to the top on the front of the card.
Card 5:
This card uses two of the new die sets - the Stitched Foliage Dies and the Stacked Edges 1 Dies. The details and more images will be on the Pretty Pink Posh blog soon. Thanks so much for visiting today. I will be part of the new release blog hop on Thursday of this week, so come back for a "one stamp, five way" blog post using the brand new Angel Friends Stamp Set!
