Hello Blog Hoppers! You must all be very inspired by now since you are at the end of a two day hop! Today I will be sharing my newest set of watercolor cards called Punder the Sea all painted up and perdy. Hopefully this will inspire you even more to get out your watercolors and have some fun painting. I have to say - of all my watercolor card sets, this one was the most fun to paint. I guess I have a thing for anything summer and beach! Here is an image of the set of 12 uncolored as they are sold. They are all printed on Ranger Watercolor Paper which holds up perfectly with any coloring medium. They are just the right size for a card front.
Just a little background on how this set came to be: I first decided to do an Under the Sea set for the summer release. I came up with a bunch of ideas to draw for the cards, but I wasn't sure what sentiments to use on them. Knowing I have a very creative niece, I texted her to get some ideas (she has the most clever captions on her IG posts ever). I didn't know about her talent for PUNS, but once we got started, we came up with all kinds of ideas. A few were not proper enough to use, but definitely made us laugh. Then came my most brilliant moment - PUNDER the Sea! I was so incredibly proud of myself for that one!
Here are the 12 cards all colored. At the end of this VERY long post, I will tell you the basic directions and the products I used on them.
Whew - that was a lot of photos to edit (which was NOT my favorite part of the process). On all of these images, I used Daniel Smith watercolors. I die-cut most of them with embossed rectangles from MFT Blueprints. I used my Kaiser Craft glitter pens and a White Uniball marker to add details and shading (and LOTS of dots!). I used Tonic Nuvo Drops to add colorful drops around the images as well as over all of the bubbles (I got a little carried away with these!). I also used some Pretty Pink Posh sequins on some of them. All of the products are linked at the bottom of this post.
Next on the blog hop is Gayatri Murali. Leave a comment on this blog post to be eligible to win a $25 SSS gift certificate. They will announce the winners on their blog on Tuesday. Thanks so much for visiting and I hope you were further inspired! Suzy
Really pretty designs and your colouring is gorgeous. To answer your question, I love the Fingerprint Doodles stamp set as well as the Bouquet of Thanks.
