Today I have two cards to share with you that I made with the Pretty Pink Posh Easter Friends stamp set and die set. I wanted to fit in one more blog post using this adorable Easter set before the holiday actually hits! And by the way - Happy Easter to all this weekend! Here is an image of the stamp set if you haven't seen it.
Whenever I made Pretty Pink Posh cards, I always want to incorporate all their pretty sequins too, so I end up making shaker cards. Also, many of their background dies are just so perfect for shakers. So today I have two shaker cards to show you.
My first shaker cards uses the PPP Scallop Oval dies for the background. I started by die-cutting a piece of Ranger Watercolor Paper (I always use the backside as I don't like all the rough texture of the front) with a large stitched rectangle. I then die-cut the larger oval frame out of the center. I painted the frame with yellow watercolor and I painted the background with a light pink. I used a transparency behind the frame and foam tape to create the shaker. I then poured a bunch of the Sparkling Clear Sequin Mix onto the card base and attached the front of the card over it.
Once the card was assembled, I stamped all of the cute stamps with black ink on Neenah white cardstock. I colored them in with Copic markers. I die-cut a stitched rectangle using the PPP Storybook 1 die set out of blush cardstock. I then embossed the sentiment using Versamark Ink and Ranger white embossing powder. I attached all of the images and the sentiment to the front of the card.
I started this card with a card size piece of watercolor paper. I die-cut a hexagon shape from the top using the PPP Stitched Hexagon dies. I cut another one out of white cardstock for the inside of the card. I watercolored around the outside of the hexagon with turquoise watercolor (using wet on wet technique so it would bleed outward). I attached a transparency behind the window and foam tape behind this card front. On the hexagon shape, I embossed the sentiment with Light Blue embossing powder and attached that to a card front. I poured some 4mm and 6mm Fresh Garden Mix sequins over the hexagon and attached the card front on the top.
Next, I stamped the basket and eggs from the Easter Friends set and the bee and flowers from the Spring Bees stamp sets (the is the stamp set that was free with a $80 purchase when the new release went live and will be available for purchase with the May release). I stamped them all with black ink on white cardstock and colored them in with Copic markers. I added details with my glitter pens. I arranged them on the top of the card.
Have a great Easter week friends! We aren't having too much fun over here. My Father-In-Law died last week and the funeral is on Saturday! Hopefully you are celebrating the season in a less sad way then we are! Thanks for visiting! Suzy
