I'm (((finally))) back with a "one stamp, five ways" posts today! I LOVE working on these - especially with stamp sets that I love which are usually flower stamps! It's fun thinking of different ways to use one set. But I have noticed that I am repeating similar ways to use stamps in each of these posts. So take note that I have taken note that I need to take note to come up with some new ways to use stamps if I want to teach others anything at all! haha
Today I am sharing a very new stamp set by Simon Says Stamp called Artsy Flower Parts. There is also an Artsy Flower Parts Die Set (with quite a few dies since there are so many images). Or if you prefer, they can be purchased as an Artsy Flower Parts SET. Here is an image of the stamp set:
Once of the things I love about this set is that there are outline images and flat images for two step stamping. You can use one color of ink for the outlines and then stamp the inside of the image with another color. I also like that you can use JUST the outlines for a totally different look by coloring the images in yourself. I have some examples using the stamp set in both of these ways below.
Card 1:
To make this card, I started with a stitched rectangle from Ranger Watercolor Paper. I then stamped all of the outline images randomly over the paper using MFT Natural Ink for a no-line stamping look. Next, I watercolored all of the images in. I then painted the background with a light wash (wet on wet with very watered down color) of the different colors in the flowers.
For the sentiment, I used a stitched square from the Pretty Pink Posh Storybook 1 die set. The salutation is from Jane's Doodles MOM stamp set (I adore her sets - they are so cute!). I used Hero Arts Pale Tomato Ink. I wrapped some twine around the side of the card and then added some Pretty Pink Posh Clear Confetti Mix flat sequins (brand new and I love them!).
Card 2:
This card is made using two MFT dies cut from Ranger Watercolor Paper - I used MFT Blueprints 13 for the outside rectangle (one size smaller than a card base) and then I used the Rounded Rectangle dies for the inside cut. I painted it with a wash of pinks and yellows (wet on wet). Next, I attached the frame I created over a piece of white cardstock and then all of that to a pink card base.
I stamped all of the images with MFT Natural Ink (for a no-line stamping look) on Neenah White Cardstock and then colored them in with Copic markers. I added outlines and details with my Kaiser Craft Glitter Pens. I attached all of the flowers and leaves (after I die-cut them) into the open white part of the card letting some hang over the edges. I die-cut the banner using an MFT Blueprints 2 die and stamped the sentiment with SSS Intense Black Ink. I'm not sure what stamp set I used for this sentiment - so sorry! I attached the banner over the bottom of the card and added some PPP Marigold sequins in 4mm and 6mm.
Car 3:
This card background is made with Ranger Watercolor Paper - first cut with a Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle and then I die-cut a Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Oval Frame Die out of the center. I cut another out of white card stock so if fit perfectly in the opening. I watercolored the outside piece with teal/aqua watercolor. I also watercolored a smaller piece of watercolor paper with a wash of pinks and blues to go behind the frame. I attached all to a card base.
Next, I stamped the images with Ranger Distress Inks and then stamped the inside pieces with Distress Inks as well. Sometimes I would use another color and sometimes I would use a second stamping of the same color so it was lighter. I also went back and watercolored them with a little extra ink for shading. I outlined some of them with my glitter pens (like the purple one). It was fun to work with my Distress Inks again instead of watercolors. The colors I used are in the supply list at the bottom. I arranged all of the die-cut flowers and leaves and stems into a bouquet inside the oval with the stems on the outside of the frame along the bottom. I die-cut a stitched banner and stamped the sentiment with Lawn Fawn Plastic Flamingo Ink. I layered that over the base of the stems. I added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins around the sentiment.
Card 4:
You knew I would have to do a shaker card - I'm getting so predictable! I started with a card size stitched rectangle and I painted it with pink watercolors (with some splatters as well). I then die-cut a circle out of the top center. I die-cut the banner using MFT Stitched Sentiment Dies. I stamped the sentiment using Lawn Fawn Plastic Flamingo Ink and it is from the SSS Uplifting Thoughts Stamp Set. Next. I made the shaker using foam tape and a transparency behind this piece over a white card base. I filled the center of the shaker with two Pretty Pink Posh new sequin mixes called The Friendship Mix and Winter Sparkle Sequin Mix.
I stamped the images on white cardstock using MFT Natural Ink. I colored them with Copic Markers. For some of the ones with inside stamps that matched them, I used Lawn Fawn inks (colors are listed in supply list) to stamp them. I added details, shading and sometimes outlines with my glitter pens. I arranged all of the images once die-cut around the circle forming a wreath. After they were all attached, I added some PPP Winter Sparkle sequins around the wreath.
Card 5:
For this card, I started by creating a frame from watercolor paper using Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles for the outside and using Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Notes dies. I then created the inside piece by stamping all of the images with MFT Natural Ink as if the images were growing together in a garden. Because the ink is light, I was fine with the images overlapping each other as the ink would be colored over. After I had all the outlines of the images where I wanted them, I colored them all in with Copic Markers. But THEN I wanted outlines, so I doodled fine lines with a fine tip black marker.
I colored around the images with some of my lightest Copic markers in shades that matched the flowers. I added quite a bit of green around the stems. I stamped the sentiment with black ink on a label die - but I don't remember what stamp set I used for it! It really goes well with the doodled flowers though! I attached the frame over the flowers and then the label over the frame. I added some PPP sequins around the flowers and stems.
Whew - these take longer to blog about then they do to create! I hope you enjoyed this post and tell me in the comments which card you liked the best - I always love to hear! Thanks so much for visiting and have a great weekend crafty friends! Suzy
Suzy-I regularly visit your blog for inspiration but don't always comment. I seriously love them all BUT if I HAD to pick a fave it would be a cross between the one you colored with Distress ink and the wreath one. I have been watercoloring the Valentine's cards you designed and having a blast. Learning a lot too. Trying out different brands of watercolor. Anyway your creations are so pretty. May I ask what you do with all these gorgeous cards? I would like love to purchase a few from you if they are for sale. If not I understand. Thank you for your great instructions too! Cheers-Annie
