Today Simon Says Stamp has a brand new spring release called New Beginnings full of all kind of beautiful floral designs. I have a new watercolor card set as part of this release called Spring Flowers. Here is an image of the 12 cards:
I decided to make them a little bit different than my past sets by not adding salutations to them. I thought that way, you could add sentiments from stamp sets on die-cuts so they are more unique and have dimension. I hope you all like this new type of card!
There is a stamp set called Hand Lettered Encouragement in this new release that has all salutations in beautiful brush lettering. I thought they would work perfectly with these cards, so I used them on the front of many of them. Here is an image of the stamp set:
Friday is a blog hop for this new release and I'll be showing all of these 12 watercolor cards made into cards. But since the release went live tonight, I wanted to show a few of them done now, so I have three to share with you. All three use sentiments from the Hand Lettered Encouragement stamp set above.
Sweet Peas are one of my favorite flower because they smell SO good! I also love the bright colors they come in. I watercolored the three of them with blue, bright pink, and purple. I die-cut the card with a stitched rectangle using MFT Blueprints 13 (so it is one size smaller than a card front).
I die-cut a small stitched oval using the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Oval Dies (smallest one). I stamped the HI sentiment from the new Handlettered Encouragement stamp set in Versamark Ink and embossed it with Wow Royal Crush Embossing Powder. I added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins from their Winter Sparkle Mix.
Again I watercolored the image and then I added some shading with my Kaiser Craft Glitter Pens. I die-cut the image with my MFT Blueprints 13 dies to be one size smaller than a card front.
I die-cut a banner and watercolored it pink. I stamped the sentiment from the Hand Lettered Encouragement using Versamark Ink and embossed with Wow Powder Pink Embossing Powder. I attached that to the front of the card and added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins.
I watercolored this front as well adding some aqua to the background to fill in all the spaces. I die-cut it with the MFT Blueprints 13 die (one size smaller than a card front). I added details with the glitter pens.
I die-cut a stitched rectangle using the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle dies. I stamped the sentiment using the same stamp set with Versamark Ink and embossed with Wow Powder Pink Lady embossing powder. I attached that to the top of the card front and added some sequins by Pretty Pink Posh around it.
Well there you have it! I'll be showing you the rest of the watercolor cards made into cards on the blog hop on Friday. Hope to see you back then! Thanks for visiting! suzy

So pretty. Is there any chance these images could be released in digital form? I think I'd like to do more of some than others. Also, it would be nice to be able to use whatever paper is best for the coloring medium I choose.
