I shared my set of Love Watercolor Cards when there were released a few weeks ago. But I hadn't colored them all yet, so I made a few more to share with you. They were out of stock for a while, but they are back in stock now at Simon Says Stamp! Here is the set - I made most of the cards work for general love, not just Valentine's Day.
Here are some of my watercolored versions. You can use any coloring medium, but I used watercolors for all of these. I'll give details under each one.
I die-cut this one with a stitched rectangle one size smaller than a card front using MFT Blueprints 13 die. I painted it with watercolors and then added some details with my favorite Kaiser Craft Glitter Pens and a white Uniball marker. I added some sparkling clear Pretty Pink Posh sequins in 4mm.
This one is also watercolored. For the fox, i added some dry strokes of paint as well to look like fur. I painted the balloon with water first and then dropped the color in so it would mix (wet on wet technique). I also splattered some water into it to spread the colors. I splattered some pink paint on the balloon and the background. I finished it with some Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear sequins from the mix.
I love these colors and I used them for a lot of my cards today! For the letters, I painted them with three colors mixing the colors as I added each one. I added shading with my Kaiser Craft Glitter Pens that matched the three colors perfectly. I added some paint around the outside edges keeping the paper wet so there are no sharp edges. I also splattered some pink paint on this one. I finished it with some Pretty Pink Posh orchid sequins.
I went a little crazy with details on this one. I painted all the flowers and the letters with watercolors. I used a couple layers so they were shaded and more saturated (more opaque). I then wet the background and dropped in some of the same colors leaving them lighter and more transparent. I added lots of details with my glitter pens and white uniball. I finished it with some Pretty Pink Posh sequins.
Another one I went a little crazy on! I painted the letters in with a dark pink watercolor and the hearts. I painted the clouds with blue. I wet the background and painted it with pinks and blues going in the opposite direction of the other colors. I added a bunch of dots with my pink glitter pen I also used some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Ruby Slippers. Last, I added some Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear sequins.
I watercolored over the words with yellow paint. I painted it the hearts with pink and then around all the swirls with blue. I added a while b lunch of dots with my glitter pens - I love the details you can add to them. I used some Orchid Pretty Pink Posh sequins.
I painted this one with watercolors as well and then added shading with my glitter pens. The background is done with a wet on wet technique so I could let the paint fan out without going all the way to the edges.
I painted this one with watercolors. I added butter yellow around the vase. I lightly painted the water inside the vase with blue paint. I covered the entire vase with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Morning Dew. It gave it the look of Crackle Medium but it is more dimensional. I love how it turned out! I used some 4mm red sequins by Pretty Pink Posh.
You can visit this post to see some of the others colored. I will have one more Valentine's Day post coming later this week! I hope you are all having a great week! xox Suzy
