Today's "one stamp, five ways" post is going to pass up the holidays and lead us down the path to January of 2017 with beautiful snowflakes! Actually I'm sure many of you are already experiencing snow and could make use of this kit right now! Me, I'm lucky if it gets down to 60 here, but I definitely have some Whistler vacation photos that will work perfect with this kit! Here is an image of Snow Much Thanks card kit:
The kit has this GORGEOUS snowflake stamp set which is also sold alone - it is very whimsical which I love. It also has TONS of sequins. I made a shaker card, used them on all of my other cards, and still have a pile left to use! It also has a Lawn Fawn shami to clean your stamps which I already had and use all the time (but a clean one will be nice!). There are several pattern papers and vellum that work perfectly with the theme. But my favorite thing in the kit is that little ink pad (also sold alone in full size). I rubbed it all over everything I made and it's like a wink of stella in the form of ink - ahhhh beautiful shimmer on everything! So let's get started with my five cards today:
If you visit my blog often, you KNOW I love color. LOVE. And my favorite colors are blues and pinks, so I used that color scheme on all five of my cards today! I also LOVE watercolor, so I have mixed in lots of that medium as well. And I think I embossed more for this post than I do in a handful of others. Snowflakes and embossing just go together really well! I embossed the sentiment on a banner I die-cut out of the vellum in the kit.
I stamped the snowflakes on a piece of Ranger watercolor paper using Versamark Ink and embossed with Ranger extra fine white embossing powder. I then WET the entire piece and applied blue paint to the top and opera pink paint to the bottom. I then mixed the two colors together and applied that purple shade to the center. This assured that the purple matched the two other colors. I splattered some water droplets and some pink droplets and let it dry.
Now this is the tricky exciting part!!! I was disappointed that the snowflakes didn't stand out enough. The watercolor kind of dulled the white color. So I rubbed that white pearlescent ink pad all over the top of the card and the white started popping again and the background developed a beautiful shimmer. I wish you could see it in person. That pad is da' bomb! It adds such a pearlescent sheen to everything!
For this card, I die-cut a stitched rectangle out of the blue gingham patterned paper. I die-cut a circle out of the top center and attached it to the pink cardstock that is in the kit. I stamped the largest snowflake with Versamark and embossed it with my new WOW puffy white embossing powder which is super dimensional. I attached a white frame using my Lawn Fawn scalloped circle dies from white cardstock.
This is where my next exciting discovery about that little ink pad happened. The white frame didn't match the off white color of the snowflake. So I rubbed the ink over the white frame and it became a shiny pearl color that matched perfectly. I'm telling you I am a fan of that ink pad! I die-cut a small banner for the sentiment out of the vellum in the kit and embossed with white embossing powder. I added some sequins and some twine.
I used my favorite patterned paper for this card. I attached it to the pink cardstock in the kit as my card base. I also die-cut a border from the blue vellum using my new Sunrise border die from the last SSS Die-cember release. I rubbed my magical pearlescent ink pad over it to give it some sheen and attached it below the patterned paper.
I stamped the snowflakes on the lighter blue vellum and embossed with Ranger embossing powder. I then cut around the edges and attached them to the card. I die-cut a white banner and a small rectangle from the blue vellum for my sentiment. I embossed it with white embossing powder and layered them tucking them under one of the snowflakes. I finished it with some of the gorgeous sequins in the kit.
Of course I had to make a shaker card with all those sequins in the kit! I stamped the snowflakes on the lighter blue vellum and embossed with white embossing powder. I also die-cut that piece with a stitched rectangle just slightly smaller than the card base. I die-cut a circle out of the top of this piece using the SSS stitched circle dies. I also die-cut another set of the rectangle and stitched circle (lining up with the vellum so the circle was in the same spot) out of white cardstock. I attached the vellum to the white cardstock so I could put foam tape behind it to create the shaker.
I also die-cut an MFT stitched circle frame die out of the darker blue vellum to frame the window. I attached all of this to a white card base and filled the opening with some of the sequins. I addd a stitched border die for the sentiment using Lawn Fawn Blue Jay ink to stamp it. I added some sequins to the banner as well.
I die-cut a stitched rectangle out of watercolor paper and then die-cut a SSS scalloped border die from the bottom edge. I then die-cut another stitched rectangle from the striped paper and attached that to a card base using the cream cardstock in the kit. I embossed the snowflakes using a WOW embossing powder called xxx that is an aqua color and matched the stripes. I watercolored around the snowflakes with a pink color to match the paper.
I die-cut a stitched rectangle from the Lawn Fawn set using the blue cardstock in the kit and then embossed the sentiment on it with white embossing powder. I added that to the top with some sequins around it.
Five cards done and I'm telling you I have enough stuff to make at least five more (just not the time as I still haven't started my shopping!). I hope you are all having a very merry holiday season! Here is our family picture from our Christmas card! Happy Holidays friends! Suzy

Beautiful cards!! I love all the snowflakes! And they all kind of have that random stamping that is my favorite! Thanks for sharing your awesome talent! I am one of those that loves snowflakes and snowmen but I hate the actual snow. Well, I hate the complications that come with it. Your picture is beautiful. You definitely are not by the beach! Wishing you and your family the Merriest of Christmases!!

Your cards are terrific - so creative and I love your Christmas picture! The snow is gorgeous - too bad we won't get any here in south Orange County!
