This is my first time to use an Avery Elle stamp set for a "one stamp, five ways" post. I fell in love with two of their Christmas sets before the season started and couldn't wait to share them with you. But unfortunately I waited too long as Simon Says Stamp is now out of this set. But they are in stock at Avery Elle directly. The stamp set is called North Pole Pals and here is an image of it. It also comes with dies that match.
I think the images in this stamp set are so adorable - I love the expressions on the deer. It's very basic which I like as well - not too much going on and very traditional. You can mix and match the sentiment words also. I made five cards with this set to share with you today.
For this card, I framed it with a Mama Elephant frame die placed over a red watercolored background. I stamped the images with light ink and colored them with Copics so there were no lines. But then I went back in and outlined them anyway!
I stamped the sentiment on an MFT Banner with Lawn Fawn Lobster ink - it is such a perfect ink and it stamps so solid and dark on the first try. I used my Mini Misti, but didn't even have to ink it twice as I often need to do. I added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins to finish this card.
This is my random stamped image as expected! I used watercolor paper and stamped the images with black ink. I then used my Daniel Smith watercolor to paint them and to give the background a nice sheen.
I added some details and shine with my Kaiser Craft glitter pens and a silver, white, and gold Uniball. I used a small stitched rectangle for the sentiment with the red Lawn Fawn Lobster ink again and then added some Pretty Pink Posh red sequins. I attached it all to some shimmery green cardstock by Simon Says Stamp.
I wanted to make one card in non traditional Christmas colors. I die-cut a stitched rectangle and then die-cut a stitched square in the middle of the top of it. I then die-cut another stitched square a little bit smaller for the center piece. I painted them with blue watercolors. For the background piece I used some shimmery paints leaving it light with flicks of paint on it. For the inside piece, I used a darker blue and kept it solid.
I used some blue glitter embossing powder to add the little snowflakes to the background - it was an older one I had by Stamping Up. I stamped the sentiment on a stitched banner using Lawn Fawn Fish Tank ink again - see how perfect it stamps?!?!. The reindeer is stamped on white cardstock and colored in with Copic markers.
This card uses just the darling Mr. and Mrs. Clause. I stamped them on white cardstock and colored them with Copic markers again. That sentiment looks so good embossed with white embossing powder - I love how it stands out on the red card base. I made a frame using a stitched rectangle die from patterned paper.
I painted the white piece with a clear Wink of Stella pen so it is all shimmery even though you can't really tell int he photos! I finished it with some marshmallow sequins by Pretty Pink Posh to mimic snow.
Of course I had to make a shaker card as usual! I painted the background with green watercolor and splashed water droplets and paint drops on it so it looks mottled. I die-cut a scalloped circle for the frame from patterned paper. I also die-cut a stitched circle as the frame. I put foam tape on the backside of this frame and then filled it with Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear sequins.
I stamped the images on white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark Ink and embossed with white embossing powder.
I have a question for you - doing the blog post this way without detailed instructions for each card is much faster. Does anyone care? Did anyone use the details I've put down in the past? If not, I can save me typing time and you reading time by doing the quicker version I did here. Just let me know if you like the longer one and I will continue it that way. I always want to inspire others to try some of the techniques I use and find more ways to use their stamp sets!
Thanks for visiting today! I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season so far! Suzy
