Hello to those few people that might be visiting my blog during such a busy time of the year! How I got this blog post done is a complete miracle! I am the GUEST BLOGGER over at My Favorite Things today or I probably wouldn't have been back here until after the holidays. But I am really glad you are here IF you are here! Today I am using the adorable MFT Polar Bear Pals for my "one stamp, five ways" post. Here is an image:
I had a gift certificate for $40 to the MFT store and I bought this set with the dies that go with it. Yep. I like it THAT much. It was my favorite winter set they came out with. I have five cards to share with you today with brief descriptions of techniques as it's a busy time of year ...
My first card is a shaker card using an MFT Stitched Circle Scallop Frame to create my shaker window. I stamped my polar bears with MFT Natural Ink and colored them with Copic markers so they don’t have outlines.
The inside of the shaker is a piece of watercolor paper painted with blues, pinks, and purples. I filled the opening with Pretty Pink Posh sequins and added some to the front of the card as well. I stamped the sentiment with two colors of ink blending them together – Grapesickle and Lush Lagoon.
For the base of this card, I used the MFT Horizontal Snow Drifts Cover Up Die-namics cut from white watercolor paper. I painted the inside of the frame (except the bottom section) with blue watercolors. I stamped all of the images with black ink and colored them with Copic markers.
I clustered the bucket of fish with some stamped images from the Beast Friends stamp and die set. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark Ink and embossed with white embossing powder.
I love the technique of randomly stamping images on watercolor paper and painting them in. I use my Mini Misti to make it much easier to line the images up – kind of like placing puzzle pieces! I painted the background a bright blue to make the bears really pop.
For the sentiment, I die-cut a stitched banner from MFT Blueprints 12 out of black cardstock. I embossed it with white embossing powder and adding some bright pink sequins.
To make this card background, I used three different MFT Die-namics. First, I die-cut a stitched rectangle out of white watercolor paper and added some snow to it with the Vertical Snowball Die-namics. I watercolored this piece with blue on the top and some pinks and purples as I moved down. I die-cut two snow banks out of the Hit the Slopes dies and then also die-cut them with a large stitched rectangle so the bottom and side edges matched up. Next, I die-cut some snowy mountains with the Snow Capped Mountain Die-namics and attached them on top of the mountains.
I stamped my polar bear images with black ink and colored them in with Copic Markers. I stamped the sentiment with black ink on a banner from MFT Tag Builder Blueprints 4. I added some 4mm white sequins inside some of the snow drops on the background to finish the card.
I started this card by watercoloring a mix of blues and greens on a card size piece of watercolor paper. Next, I die-cut a Gift Box Cover Up Die-namics from white cardstock to use as a frame over the watercolored piece. I attached both to a card base.
I stamped all of the polar bears with MFT Natural Ink and colored them with Copics so there are no outlines. I stamped the sentiment with white embossing powder and embossed. Last, I added some snowflake and clear sequins.
I hope you enjoyed my five cards using the Polar Bear Friends stamp set today. Wishing you all a VERY Merry Christmas this weekend! Thanks SO much for visiting! xoxo

I totally fell in love with your cards on the MFT blog and had to come and visit you! Your cards are stunning and I love how you've created different looks with each card. I actually own that set of stamps and dies (it's my favourite too!) so I'll be coming back for another look when I make my next cards. Thanks so much for the inspiration.
Merry Christmas from New Zealand xx

These are so SOOOOOO wonderful! I absolutely LOVE your coloring, and those bears are just perfection anyway! My only question would be -- what paper you use when Copic coloring because I seem to always get a bit of "wander" of color outside the lines...
