The stamp set I am using for my "one stamp, five ways" post today was part of the Simon Says Stamp Stamptember celebration and was a collaboration between SSS and Reverse Confetti. It is a fall stamp set called Forest Friends and it does not have dies to go with it. That didn't bother me at all as it saved me money and I like fussy cutting - plus these images were really easy to cut out.
I made five cards with this set. There are lots of sentiments to choose from, so it could be used for several occasions (hello, hugs, birthday, friendship, etc...). It is definitely worth the $15 in my opinion! I really had fun working with it and I don't have many fall sets. PLUS, I' a succor for critters - owls, foxes - I love them all! So let's get started!
I didn't want to disappoint anyone, so I made my usual random stamping image card! I used no-line stamping and watercolored in all the images. HEY, BIG NEWS HERE! I finally (((finally))) ordered a Misti stamping tool. I never understood the hype until I got my hands on one. When you are making this type of random stamping card, it makes it SO much easier! You arrange the stamps and then press the tool on, ink it up and stamp them all at once - woohoo! So many things I can do with this tool - I have no idea why I didn't get it sooner. I bought the small 4x6 one since I am a cheap skate and it works fine if I precut my watercolor papers and white cardstock into 4x6 pieces before I work on them.
Steps:
- Die-cut a piece of Ranger watercolor paper with a large stitched rectangle from the Lawn Fawn set (or any that are the size of a card front, but this is the only one I have found that size).
- Randomly stamp all o the images in the stamp set with MFT Natural Ink all over the rectangle. Stamp the word hugs in between the images with gold or brown ink.
- Watercolor in the images and also paint the background a light green. Add details with glitter pens. I also wrote hugs over the stamped images with a brown glitter pen.
- Die cut a banner out of brown cardstock and emboss the sentiment on it with white embossing powder.
- Attach to a card base and add some sequins in various Fall colors.
This card has a watercolored background that I wanted to look like a fall sunset - all oranges and pinks and yellows. The images are all colored with Copic markers.
Steps:
- Cut a piece of watercolor paper that is around 4" x 5". Watercolor it with red, pinks, and yellows in stripes across the top mixing the colors to create the look of a sunset.
- Cut another piece that is 5" wide and die-cut the top with the Simon Says Stamp Wavy Scallop Stitches die. Paint it green.
- Attach the sky to the top of a green card base and the grass overlapping it to the bottom of a card base.
- Die-cut a frame from white cardstock using the Pretty Pink Posh scalloped rectangle stamps. Layer it on top of the background.
- Stamp and cut out the fox and several leaves and nuts using black ink and white cardstock. Color them in with Copic markers and add details with glitter pens.
- Attach the images to the grass arranging the leaves and acorns in a pile.
- Die cut a banner from Kraft cardstock and stamp the sentiment with brown ink. Add some green sequins to the grass.
Another regular feature - the shaker card! When I photograph a shaker card standing up as it is here, all the sequins fall to the bottom half of the shaker. So I photographed it flat on the ground as well and then replaced the image with that one - thus it looks full, but it really isn't. Just in case you wondered! ha I got to use up lots of my fall colored sequins in this one!
Steps:
- Die cut a stitched rectangle from watercolor paper. Die-cut two pieces of foam the same size. Then die cut an MFT Stitched Scallop Circle frame die from the top center of each. Paint the watercolor one orange. Paint the watercolor paper red, yellow, and oranges. Wet the paper first so the colors blend into each other. Leave some white spaces on it as well.
- Layer the two foam pieces and the scallop circles on a green cardstock base with a piece of cream cardstock underneath the opening.
- Attach a transparency to the inside of the watercolor rectangle with the circle attached inside it.
- Drop some fall colored sequins into the opening and attach the watercolor paper over the top.
- Add some additional sequins to the top of the shaker transparency.
- Die cut a stitched banner from green cardstock and emboss the sentiment on it. Attach to the bottom of the card with a sequin on the left side.
This is one of my favorite dies by Pretty Pink Posh called Storybook 1 - I love how it has little squares you can fill in with images and text. These fit perfectly inside my watercolored background. The images are colored with Copic markers and the sentiment is embossed with gold embossing powder.
Steps:
- Die cut a stitched rectangle from Ranger watercolor paper with the textured side up. Die cut the Pretty Pink Posh Storybook 1 die from the center of it. Attach a piece of cream watercolor paper behind it.
- Stamp the sentiment with Versamark ink and emboss with Simon Says Stamp Antique Gold embossing powder in the lower right opening.
- Stamp the owl/mushroom and three clouds on white cardstock. Color with Copic markers and cut them out. Attach to the other two openings.
- Attach three gold sequins around the clouds and tie some brown/white twine to the top of the card.
I made this background with an MFT Chevron stencil and Distress Ink rubbed over it lightly. The fox and leaves are colored with Copic markers.
Steps:
- Create a white card base. Attach the MFT Chevron Stencil to the top of the front of the card and attach with sticky tape.
- Rub some Distress Inks over it with a Ranger Blending Tool using golds and greens blending the colors.
- Die cut two banners using Kraft cardstock and burnt orange cardstock. Attach to the bottom of the card. Emboss the sentiment on the smaller banner with white embossing powder.
- Stamp the fox and several leaves on white cardstock with black ink. Color in with Copic markers. Attach these images over the stitched banners. Attach three clouds to the sky.
- Add some sequins.
And there you have it - five different looking cards with one simple fall set all perfect for saying hello to someone you love! I am not usually a fan of fall colors, but I really like these! I'm kind of missing my pinks and blues, but greens and oranges are definitely growing on me!
I hope you enjoyed this post! From here until the end of the year, I'll be sharing Christmas stamps in y "one stamp, five ways" posts. I have quite a few ready to go and I can't wait to start working with them. Lots are from MFT - they have come out with some really cute ones, some from Simon Says Stamp, and a couple from Avery Elle that I couldn't resist. And I still have some of the new Pretty Pink Posh ones in my cart to buy - trying to decide if I'll have time for that one too. Yikes, so many cute Christmas sets to choose from!
So happy fall friends and soon - Merry Christmas. But oh yeah, first Happy Halloween. Thanks for all your nice comments - they are always so appreciated. And if you want to follow my blog - you can subscribe on the top left side to get emails when I post. I try to post two of these posts a week, but it is usually one because life gets in the way! oxox Suzy

Hi Suzy! Oh what cute cards!! Cute stamps, but oh boy, what you did with them!! You started with my favorite - the random stamping! You didn't need the Misti - your random stamping always looked great! Have heard that it is a great tool! Love the fall colors you used and your backgrounds. The acorns and leaves are so cute!! My grand-daughter's room is owls and foxes so I am partial to them. Great set of cards and I am looking forward to your upcoming Christmas posts!!
