"One Stamp, Five Ways" - Neat and Tangled Scandinavian Prints

I'm back with my third Neat and Tangled August Guest Blogger post. Today I am doing a "one stamp, five ways" post using their beautiful floral set called Scandinavian Prints. Here is an image:

You can purchase this stamp set and set of matching dies at Neat and Tangled as they have an online store and they are both in stock. They are also carried at Simon Says Stamp - the stamp set is in stock, but the dies are not. Ok, now let's get down to business - here are my five cards showing you different ways to use this stamp set!

These colors make me giddy! As I said in my last post, purple (well, more like Lilac) is starting to really grow on me! I like the simplicity of this card and the watercolored stripes are the perfect canvas for some floral die-cut stamps.

Steps:

1. I didn't wet the paper first and I used Canson Mixed Media Paper as it is pure white and nice and thin, so it is perfect for card backgrounds. I used a 1/2" flat brush and premixed my paint colors in pink, blue, and purple. I then applied the paint in even stripes. I die-cut this into a stitched rectangle using my favorite sized one in the MFT Blueprints 13 die.
2. I attached this background piece to a white card base.
3. I stamped the three flowers and the three leaves on white cardstock using black ink. I then colored them with Copic markers. For the inside of the circles, I stamped that stamp with colored inks by Lawn Fawn (Fish Tank and Juice Box). I stamped the stems with Lawn Fawn Cut Grass ink. Use a Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen to add sparkle to the top of each flower. 
4. I die-cut a stitched banner from MFT Blueprints 2. I watercolored the banner and then stamped the sentiment with black ink. 
5. I attached the banner along the bottom of the card letting it hang over the edge and trimming off the excess. 
6. I attached the flowers, stems, and leaves above the banner. 
7. I added some Pretty Pink Posh sparkly sequins and some 4mm and 6mm blue sequins from the Share Handmade Kindness mix.

This card uses my standard technique I use all the time of stamping all the images in a stamp set randomly over a background. 

Steps:

1. Stamp the images with black ink on a piece of watercolor paper (this one uses Fabriano paper)). My favorite black ink is the Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink as it works with both Copic markers and watercolor paints - all the others I have used work with one or the other. Paint the images using watercolor paints (I used my Daniel Smith watercolors). Add shading to the images with watercolor markers (I used Zig Clean Color Brush Markers). Markers are dye based, so they have much richer color, BUT, it is harder to move that color around as it stains the paper. Regular watercolors if they are a good quality can be moved around even after they are dry.
2. Die-cut this piece using a stitched rectangle. I used the largest card sized one from the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle set. Attach that to a card base.
3. Die-cut a stitched banner using the MFT Blueprints 12 set from black cardstock. Stamp the sentiment with Versamark Ink and emboss with white embossing powder. Attach the banner to the bottom of the card.
4. Add some sparkling clear sequins by Pretty Pink Posh randomly over the background.

This card is a bouquet of lots of the flowers with stems and leaves tucked behind a banner with the sentiment. 

Steps:

1. Die-cut a stitched rectangle out of Ranger Watercolor paper using the MFT Blueprints 13 dies. Paint it pink on the top left corner and yellow on the bottom right corner leaving the center (diagonally) white. 
2. Stamp all of the flowers, leaves and stems with colored inks on white cardstock. I used several Lawn Fawn Inks included Cut Grass, Celery Stick, Sunflower, Wild Rose, and Plastic Flamingo. Add some details and shading to the pink flower with Copic markers. 
3. Die-cut the flowers and leaves and stems and attach them to the stitched rectangle. Some of the flowers with need more than one stem piece overlapped to make it longer.
4. Die-cut a stitched banner out of the same watercolor paper using MFT Blueprints 2 dies. Stamp the sentiment on it using black ink. Attach that to the bottom of the card.
5. Glue some Pretty Pink Posh 4mm clear sparkling sequins around the flowers.

This is another randomly stamped background card, but this time I used Distress Inks for a no-line look.

Steps:

1. Stamp the images on watercolor paper using Distress Inks (colors are all listed in my supplies at the end of this post). For some flowers, I stamped the flat surface on two colors of ink always doing the lightest one first.  
2. Use Distress Inks to watercolor in the images - stamp the pads on a stamp block and pick up with a watercolor brush. 
3. Paint the background between the images with Mustard Seed Distress Ink.
4. Die-cut with a stitched rectangle from MFT Blueprints 13.
5. Die-cut a banner using MFT Blueprints 20 and paint it blue. Stamp the sentiment with Versamark Ink and emboss with white embossing powder. Attach to bottom of card. 
6. Attach the painted rectangle to a blue card base. Add some 4mm colored sequins over the background. (Colors listed at the bottom in the supplies)

This card is not my usual style or my usual colors, but I'm trying to shake it up here! 

Steps:

1. Die-cut a stitched rectangle using the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle dies out of watercolor paper. Paint it with red/coral watercolors. Flick some saturated color and some water drops on the wet paint to add splotches.
2. Die-cut a smaller stitched rectangle using the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangle dies out of watercolor paper. Paint this one with yellow stripes. Stamp "hello friend" over each stripe using black ink. Tie a piece of red/white twine to the bottom of this rectangle and use foam tape behind it to add dimension - attach over the red rectangle.
3. Stamp all the leaves and the flower on white cardstock using black ink and color with Copic markers. Attach these pieces to the bottom right side of the yellow rectangle.
4. Add some sequins round the flowers in clear and yellow.

Another beautiful set of cards! Hard to pick a favorite but TWO randomly stamped cards - love them both!! And I always love the striped backgrounds. Your colors are always so bright and pretty.
