Today I am back with my second "one stamp, five ways" post using the combo of Cuddly Critters and Cuddly Critters Accessories stamp sets. (reminder that "two stamps, ten ways" / 2 = "one stamp, five ways")...
I love these little panda bears! And my card is supposed to make them appear to love each other! I used a couple of my regular die sets that I use on every post. The lesson here is if you invest in a good set of standard dies you can use them over and over and over! I started this card with a stitched rectangle the full size of a card from my Lawn Fawn large stitched rectangle set. Next I die-cut a frame from the Simon Says Stamps Frame set out of watercolor paper and painted that pink. I die-cut an MFT Rounded Stitched Rectangle out of the center of the white rectangle. I also cut one out of Ranger Watercolor Paper and painted that one pink to match the frame. I attached all of these pieces to a pink card base.
I stamped the bears on Neenah White Cardstock with SSS Intense Black Ink and die-cut them. I colored the bears with Copic markers. The hearts are stamped on watercolor paper and watercolored. I stamped the sentiment (cut it first) on a banner from MFT Blueprints 13 and Hero Arts Bubblegum Ink (my favorite pink ink color). I also stamped some small hearts with the same ink on the card frame - I stamped them all on scratch paper first so they are lighter. I outlined the salutation and attached all the elements to the card.
I die-cut a stitched rectangle from watercolor paper using my MFT Blueprints 13 rectangle. I painted this rectangle with blue stripes. First I thoroughly wet the entire surface so that when I painted the stripes, they bled into the white areas. So they are very messy stripes! I stamped the little "happy birthday" sentiment on the blue stripes with Lawn Fawn Fish Tank Ink (stamped first on scratch paper so these are second and third generation stamping). Next, I die-cut another stitched rectangle from watercolor paper and then used the SSS Wavy Scalloped border die to add a border along the top. I painted that with pink watercolors. I attached that to the bottom of the blue rectangle and attached both to a blue card base.
I stamped all of the stamped elements on watercolor paper using SSS Intense Black Ink. I watercolored all the images. For the gift box, I stamped the little square and circle from the stamp set and colored them in with watercolor markers. I added white Uniball to their centers giving the box a really crazy pattern. I stamped the bow on the package with my Hero Arts Bubble Gum ink - I stamped it after I die-cut it so they were positioned right. I stamped the sentiment on a stitched Banner from MFT Blueprints 2. I attached all to a card base.
I die-cut a white frame using my Mama Elephant Madison Framed Tags dies from Ranger watercolor paper (backside). I painted the inside of it with blue paint. I used Tombow markers in two colors of blue to watercolor it. I colored them on a slick surface first (my Ranger mat) and then picked the color up and painted it into a wet surface. Markers are dye-based color so they work best by coloring them on another surface instead of directly on the paper (which it will stain unless you move it around really quickly). I attached the frame to a blue card base and attached the blue piece to the center.
I saw a picture on pinterest with three little birds holding balloons on a line of some sort, so I decided to try to make something similar. I started by drawing a line with a fine tip black marker. I attached three birds that were stamped on watercolor paper and painted with my Zig Kuretake watercolor markers. They work nice for images with smaller areas to paint. I enjoyed pulling them out and putting my fancy ones away for once! I forgot how much I like them. I stamped the balloons on Ranger watercolor paper with Versamark Ink and embossed with white embossing powder. I then watercolored them also with my Kuretake markers. These markers are dye based, so I am able to get more intense colors with them than with real watercolors. I cut these balloons out around the embossing. I attached them over the center bird. I stamped the sentiment on the bottom with Black Intense Ink. I stamped all of the confetti stamps around the birds with different colored inks (Hero Arts Bubble Gum, Lawn Fawn Yellow, SSS Orange, Lawn Fawn Mermaid, and Hero Arts Pale Tomato linked at the bottom).
I made another card with patterned paper - from the Lawn Fawn plaid paper pad again. Obviously I really like it AND I like to get a lot of use out of what I buy! I die-cut a stitched rectangle using MFT Blueprints 13. I then die-cut a stitched oval using my SSS Stitched Ovals set and white cardstock. I attached the rectangle with the oval on top of it onto a turquoise card base. See how easy patterned paper makes things?!?!?!
I stamped the three animals and the balloons and flags on white cardstock with SSS Intense Black Ink. I colored them all in with Copic markers. I stamped Hugs Inside on the two flags. I added white spots on the balloons with a white uniball marker. I attached all of these items to the white oval. I then stamped the little swirl design stamp on the background a few times with Hero Arts Bubble Gum Ink (second generation so it was more subtle).
After all these busy cards, I wanted to make a more simple one. I die-cut a stitched rectangle (largest one in my Lawn Fawn small stitched rectangle set). I then attached my MFT Swiss Dots stencil to it with tape. I colored some Texture Paste with Tattered Rose Distress Ink (keeping it very light) and rubbed that over the stencil. I lifted it very carefully and let the texture paste dry. I attached this rectangle to a white cardstock base.
I stamped the package, the bow, the dog, and all the other elements on watercolor paper with SSS Intense Black Ink. I painted them all with my Zig Kuretake watercolor markers again. I kind of fell in love with them today - haven't pulled them out in so long! I love how intense the colors are with them! I added white dots to the package and the party hat. I stamped for you on the little banner. I attached all to the top of the card.
Ok, that's ten! I get to move on to another set now! I'll be back later this week - still figuring out which one I will use. But I think it is going to be a new one I have by Avery Elle - my first set by them. I gotta shake it up! Have a great week and thanks for visiting me!!! xoxo
PS - Please take note that this is my first post EVER with NO sequins on any cards - wowowowow!
Cute stamps-adorable cards! Always love your backgrounds! I like the way you use your dies to make your background shapes as in your first card. Second and third generation stamping in background of b'day card looks really neat! How did you refrain from using sequins - HA! The whole set of cards is so cute!! Thanks for sharing your awesome talent!!
