Hi friends! Yesterday and today I am the guest blogger at My Favorite Things showing different ways to use their new Snuggle Bunnies stamp and die set. I have exactly FIVE projects today so this really does qualify as a true "one stamp, five ways" post! So let's get started!
Here is the cute stamp set:
Those are some cute little bunnies and bears, right? I really like the sentiments in this set too and there are so many of them! I have four cards and one tag to share with you today.
For this card, I started by watercoloring a stitched rectangle from MFT Blueprints 13 that is 4x5.25". I painted it yellow on one side and then red on the other blending them in the center. this works best if you wet the entire paper first. While the paint was still wet, I dabbed it in places with a napkin that has texture which transferred some of that texture to the paint. I love the look of that!
Next, I used the Pretty Pink Posh Storybook 1 Die on the inside of the rectangle and also die-cut the same out of white cardstock. I attached the rectangle to the card base as well as the rectangles. I stamped the bear and bunny on white cardstock and colored them in with Copic markers. I attached them to two of the rectangles. I stamped the sentiment on the third rectangle. I added three pink sequins and some twine. (Note: To stamp the sentiment this way I had to cut it in several pieces. I do that often to get more use out of my stamps. You may prefer NOT to cut your stamps though as it does bother me a little. But I'm here to show you more ways to use your stamps, so I am ok with it! I also used a pencil to measure the space so I could properly space and line up the sentiment because I'm a complete perfectionist. This was my second try haha).
This card has another of my favorite type of backgrounds. I'm always trying to show you different ways to do backgrounds since I love making them so much. I think of them as a canvas for the cute little stamps and I like to have a variety of types on my cards. This one is a technique I used on my last post. I stamped a rubber background stamp by MFT that is no longer available in their shop, but is still in the SSS shop called On The Diagonal. But there are all kinds at MFT that will give you similar looks. You just lay this large stamp on a flat surface and cover it completely with a Versamark Ink Pad. Then I emboss it with clear embossing powder. Now IF you want the lines to be subtle as they are here, use clear. But if you want them more defined or to show up more, use white embossing powder. Next, you just watercolor over it and presto - beautiful background!
Next. I stamped these adorable little bunnies on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and colored them in with Copics. After they were done, I doodled some really fine lines over them and added some details with a white uniball marker. I then die-cut an opening with my favorite MFT Inside Out Stitched Rounded Rectangle Die-namics. I then built up two layers of foam tape below the opening and created a window to put sequins in. I had these stars from my days at Studio Calico and used the PPP 4mm sparkling clear sequins I love so much. I attached all to a pink card base. I added a sentiment to a banner from MFT Blueprints 20 and attached that to the bottom of the card.
I started this card by watercoloring a rectangle using just one color - kind of a mint green with sheen in it. I then die-cut three stars out of it from the new Inside and Out Stitched Stars Die-namics. I used the inside pieces of the stars as well by painting them different colors with watercolors. They have a nice embossed edge on them you can't see here, so they would be great to use alone as well. I added a frame around this piece from Mama Elephant Framed Tags die set. I painted that with pink watercolor. I really like using only ONE color of watercolor in different intensities on a piece - just make sure to wet it all first so it spreads around and you get the lights and darks. I compiled all on a green card base.
I stamped the little bunny and bear on watercolor paper with black ink and then painted them and added some details with a white uniball. I added some more star sequins around the card. Last, I stamped the sentiment on the top of the green background with black ink.
I think this is my first card with NO watercoloring on it - yay me! First, I die-cut a stitched rectangle from white cardstock using the MFT Blueprints 13 die again. Then I used the Inside Out Rounded Rectangle Die-namics for the inside piece. I rubbed Ranger Tumbled Glass ink on the small piece using a Ranger Blending Tool. I attached both of those pieces to a green card base. I then die-cut an oval from the MFT Pierced Oval Stax Die-namics and coloring it with green Copic markers. I cut it in half and inserted it under the bottom of the card.
I then die-cut a cloud and a rainbow from the new MFT End of the Rainbow die set. Oh my I just love this set! I used only three of the six pieces and colored between the stitched lines with Copic markers. I attached that to the top of the card. I stamped the bunny on white cardstock and colored him with Copics. I attached him to the top of the mound I had created. Last, I stamped a sentiment from the MFT Rainbow Greetings stamp set (it is made to fit on this cloud and goes with the rainbow dies in the words used). I used WOW Royal Crush embossing powder that is purple with some blue glitter in it. I attached the cloud over the rainbow to finish the card.
I wanted to use the little bears more, so I decided they would make a cute tag. I die-cut a tag from watercolor paper using MFT Blueprints 6 Die-namics. I lightly painted the inside of the tag with pink paint (again, wet first so the color naturally blends outward).
I stamped the two bears on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink and then colored them with Copic markers. I added some dots with a Uniball and outlined them with a fine tip marker. I attached them to the bottom of the tag and stamped a sentiment from the set on the top with black ink. I added three coral sequins and some twine to the top.
I hope you enjoyed this darling new stamp set from MFT! I enjoyed being their guest designer this week and am very thankful they were understanding when I missed all my deadlines! I've had horrid food poisoning and it has taken me three days to feel like a human again. Have you ever had it? This was my first time and it was seriously the worst night of my life - even worse then brain surgery I think! Anyway - hope you are all well and come back soon as I have one more MFT set to highlight this week! Thanks for visiting! Suzy
These are all so sweet! I love the soft and pretty backgrounds on 4 of your projects...and then the pop of the bright rainbow on the 5th, WOW! All of the cards, and the tag too, are oustanding as usual! Thanks for sharing your talent!

Welcome back! Sorry to hear about the food poisoning, but glad that you are feeling better. In your absence, I have been visiting your blog archive. WOW! You are quite the photographer. And your scrapbook pages are awesome!! Your doodling is so neat, then to see it appear on your scrapbook pages - well that made them even more interesting and personal. You have shared so much of yourself and your family. They make great subjects for your pages. You mentioned your surgery. That had to be an ordeal to go through but you obviously have great faith and great family support that helped you through. I think you are an awesome person. These cards are once again just awesome. The little animals are so cute but what you did with them makes people want to buy the set. The soft colors you used makes them perfect for baby cards too. Thanks again for sharing your incredible talent. Glad you are feeling better!

Oh my gosh, Suzy! I'm so sorry you had such a bad case of food poisoning! I've never had it but heard it's nasty, nasty! I'm so glad you are feeling better! Did you say you've had brain surgery? Oh my goodness! You are even MORE inspiring to me! I adore these posts as you know and appreciate so much all the detail you add in explaining how you achieve the looks you do. You are such a great teacher. I had seen (and commented) on these cards on the other blog. It's great to see them here, too. You sure made the set shine! Thanks so much! Hugs!!
