I'm a really lucky dog to get to play with this cute new stamp set by MFT. You are a really lucky dog to be here seeing all my creations - haha. Ok, enough playing on the name of this stamp set - LUCKY DOG. It is part of the MFT April Release and was designed by Birdie Brown. There are little Lucky Dog Die-namics too! Here is an image of this doggone good-looking (enough already!) stamp set:
Which dog is your favorite? Are you a dog person? Do you have a dog? Do any of these dogs look like your dog/dogs? YES, I expect answers to these questions!!! I have two dogs and I don't think any of these look like my pooches. But my favorite is the bottom left dog - is that a bulldog? The poodle is pretty cute too and was really fun to color. I also love the Boston Terrier. Ok, on to my creations - and guess what?!?!?! I stuck to five this time! (I could have done more as I had more colored doggies, but if you haven't noticed yet - this blog post is going up on Wed instead of Tuesday because I'm super busy with deadlines right now - so yes, five today)...
For this card, I used one of my all time favorite dies by Pretty Pink Posh called Storybook 1. It has these windows with stitching on the inside and outside which is great. I used some of my leftover texture paste background from my last post. I made it by using a dot stencil taped to cardstock. Then I tinted some texture paste with Blue Distress Ink (any ink would work) and rubbed it onto the stencil. I wiped off the excess with a craft knife and carefully lifted the stencil. I placed this scrap piece behind the windows for a nice subtle design. Who needs patterned paper when you have texture paste?!?! Too bad I have tons of it sitting around that I never use!
Next, I stamped all of the dogs and fence with MFT Natural Ink on Neenah White Cardstock. I colored them in with Copic markers. See how the lines don't show? I love this look on small stamps as they look so much cleaner. I attached the dogs and fence inside the rectangles and stamped the sentiment along the bottom of the card. I attached all to a white cardstock base.
For this card, I die-cut a stitched rectangle from Ranger watercolor paper and painted it light blue (used a solid wash technique so it is one solid color). I die-cut an SSS Wavy Scallop stitches border out of watercolor paper and then die-cut it again with the same stitched rectangle die so it fit perfectly on the sky background. I painted that one with green watercolor. I die-cut a scallop border from the SSS Frames die-set and attached that to a white cardstock base. Then I attached the sky/grass rectangle on top of it.
I stamped the tennis balls on white cardstock with MFT Natural Ink again and colored with Copic markers. I stamped the dog with SSS Black Intense Ink and colored him with Copics. I die-cut the two clouds with an MFT cloud die. I attached all to the card. I stamped the sentiment on the bottom with black ink. I also stamped a bouncing line stamp on the background.
I used clear embossing powder on white cardstock to emboss this doggie footprints. I then painted over them with pink watercolor and wiped any excess off the embossed areas. I die-cut that piece into a stitched rectangle and attached it to a white card base.
I stamped the poodle with the same MFT Natural ink and colored her with Copic markers. I made sure she was a she by giving her a pink necklace. I stamped the sentiment on a stitched banner die and attached both to the front of the card.
My last card starts with a blue cardstock base. I die-cut a SSS stitched oval die out of watercolor paper and painted a very light background with a blue sky and gray ground. I attached that to the card base.
I die-cut that adorable tree using the brand new MFT Tremendous die out of watercolor paper. I painted it and attached it to the top of the background. I die-cut two of the fences and stamped them with MFT Natural ink and watercolored them. I stamped and die-cut a dog with the same ink and watercolored him. I attached all of those to the center of the background. Last, I stamped the sentiment on a SSS Sketchy Banner die and attached that under the fence.
The tag is a SSS Stitched Dress Up Tags tag die die-cut out of white yardstick. I love this tag! I die-cut a stitched rectangle (smallest in my Lawn Fawn small stitched rectangle set) and stamped the sentiment on it. I stamped an die-cut the fence and dog using MFT Natural Ink on white cardstock. I colored them with Copics. I colored a light blue background on the tag with Copic markers and attached everything over it.
Not too complicated today! I may or may not be back on Friday with another of the new MFT stamp sets to highlight. I have lots of deadlines this week, so I will do my best. I hate to miss my scheduled posts! (it may be Sat, but it will come!). Thanks so much for visiting. We are on spring break. What are you up to this week? Suzy
I do not have a dog but have friends and family that do. These cards would be great for them. As always, your cards are adorable!
