Yeah, I get to participate in the Mama Elephant Stampede today for their newest release!!! I was so excited because as you all probably know, I am a BIG (HUGE) ME stamp fan girl. Today I will be using the new ORGANIC BLOOMS in a "one stamp, five ways" post. I was going to make one card with it, but I couldn't stop! So I quickly ended up with one of my usual posts showing multiple ways to use the same stamp set!
Although I LOVE all four of their new stamp sets, when I saw this one, my watercolor lovin' heart skipped a beat. I couldn't wait to apply paint to the petals! I used five different coloring techniques for my five ways to show the stamps versatility!
Coloring Method 1: I stamped it with Tattered Rose Distress Ink on Ranger Watercolor paper. I wanted a no-line look, so I used a color that would blend in with the colors I painted it with. I used Distress Inks to watercolor it as well including these colors: Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron, Squeezed Lemonade, and Mustard Seed.
I painted the image and die-cut it with a stitched rectangle. I stamped a label message on a die-cut banner using Hero Arts Bubblegum ink. I added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins on the outside edges of the banner and attached the whole thing to a yellow card base.
Coloring Method 2: I stamped this image with SSS Intense Black Ink. I colored the image in with Copic markers in corals, yellows, and greens.
I die-cut the image with a stitched rectangle. I watercolored another stitched rectangle to put behind it. I stamped the label sentiment on black cardstock with Versamark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder.
Coloring Method 3: I stamped this one with Tattered Rose Distress Ink again since it is a light neutral color. This time I used high quality Fabriano watercolor paper. I used my best watercolors as well - Daniel Smith. I wanted to see how it compared to my other watercolored image in my first card example. I like it better - what do you think?
After I watercolored the stamped image, I die-cut it with a SSS stitched square die. I attached it to a green cardstock base. I die-cut a scallop border from the MFT Blueprints 8 die set using white cardstock. I also die-cut a stitched banner from MFT Blueprints 2 die set and watercolored it. I stamped the sentiment with Hero Arts Pale Tomato ink. I cut it out and placed it on the top banner. I tied some yellow twine around the card.
Coloring Method 4: I stamped this image with SSS Intense Black Ink on Neenah White Cardstock FOUR times! Yep, this was a difficult one, but I really wanted to try ALL coloring methods with this stamp! I rubbed Distress Ink on different portions of the stamped image with a Ranger blending tool. On one image I rubbed ink on the flowers. On another I blended the leaves. On another I colored the small flowers. And on the last, I blended the background! After they were all colored with inks, I cut the different images out (except the background) and I attached them over the background image. After it was all done, I added a little more shading with Copic markers. What was I thinking? I don't know because this one took forever! In real life though it is kind of cool as you can see all the layers so it looks dimensional. Yay for that!
After it was all done, I die-cut the outside with a stitched rectangle and attached it to a green card base. I die-cut a stitched banner from MFT Blueprints 2 and stamped the salutation on it. I added two Pretty Pink Posh yellow sequins to the sides.
Coloring Method 5: I stamped this image on Neenah White cardstock with MFT Natural ink. I colored the image with Copic markers again, but this time with a no line technique.
After it was done, I die-cut it with a Simon Says Stamp Frames die-set. I attached both to a bright pink cardstock card base. I stamped the sentiment on a white banner with Versamark ink and embossed it with SSS Antique Gold embossing powder.
WHEW - THAT WAS A LOT TO TYPE AND FOR YOU TO READ! Maybe I was distracted by the two hour intense Grey's Anatomy I was watching...
