Today my "One Stamp, Five Ways" post is using a My Favorite Things stamp set called Things With Wings. This set was released about 8 months ago and it is still one of my favorite purchases. As you will see in this post, it has SO much versatility.
This stamp set is sold at Simon Says Stamp HERE, but the dies are out of stock at Simon. The stamp set AND the dies are in stock on My Favorite Things though HERE and HERE. Ok, now for my projects ... six cards and one tag today.
I posted this card first as it is my favorite - but I would love to hear which one is YOUR favorite!!! I started with the background using the Stepping Stones Cling Rubber Stamp from Simon. This is the first time I have used it and I love it so much! I stamped it with Versamark Ink and then embossed it with White Embossing Powder on watercolor paper. Next, I used Distress Inks to paint inside each circle and then used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to paint around the circles. I just love how this turned out!!! I sprinkled it with water and then let the water soak up some of the color and blotted it off. Distress Inks reactivate with water allowing you to bleach or remove color even after they are dry. I have listed the colors I used in the supply list at the bottom of this post.
Once the background was dry, I die-cut it with the largest rectangle from the LF stitched rectangle dies. This one is the size of the front of a standard card base (5.5"x4.25"). I die-cut the smallest rectangle from the same set from white cardstock and stamped the sentiment Happy Birthday on it. I then die-cut and stamped the owls on Neenah White Cardstock and colored them in with Copic markers (I cut the feet off the middle bird and used a White Uniball to cover the part of the feet showing). Last I tied some twine to the top of the card.
This card uses some of the other stamps in this set - a bird bath, a sun, and two birds. I die-cut them all and then stamped them with SSS Black Intense Ink and colored all with Copic markers. I added details with a white Uniball and some sheen with a Wink of Stella glitter pen. These are two markers I use on all my stamped images for final details! I used Distress Inks again for the background (squeezed lemonade, mowed lawn, and peacock feathers). which I painted on watercolor paper. You can see where I dropped water and soaked up some of the color. I die-cut two stitched rectangles - one from the watercolored piece and one from blue cardstock. I mounted these on a yellow cardstock card base. I added the stamped items and some sequins.
I am showing you TWO versions of this card. I added the blue/white twine and then decided I liked it better without it, so I removed it. Which do you prefer? I like the clean look of the second one. For this card, I stamped all of the images on masking paper and cut them out. I the stamped all of the clouds on a Neenah white cardstock base with SSS black intense ink. I then stamped the two birds. I put the masks on the small bird and the two small clouds. Then I stamped the sun so it appears to be behind the clouds. I then added the masks to ALL of the stamped items. I used my Ranger blending tool with Tumbled Glass ink for the background. I then removed all of the masks and colored all of the items with Copic markers and used a Wink of Stella glitter pen over the clouds. I added some clear sequins around the items. Next I watercolored a banner from the MFT Blueprints 2 die-set and stamped Miss You three times with a sequin between each. I put that banner on top of a scallop border die from the MFT Blueprints 8 die set. For the first card, I slit the edge of the fold of the card and wrapped twine five times around the card.
For this card, I watercolored yellow/orange stripes on Ranger watercolor paper. I then die-cut it with a LF stitched rectangle die. I used the SSS stitched rectangle circle die set to die-cut a circle from the top center of this piece. I also die cut one from white cardstock and attached both to a white card base. I die cut the word "friend" using a SSS die and white cardstock. I attached that to the bottom of the card. When die-cutting word dies, I attach some Stick It double sided adhesive to the cardstock first so it is easy to attach the word to the card. I stamped the word smile above friend and used a sequin for the top of the I. I stamped and die-cut three butterflies from the stamp set and colored with Copic marker. Then I added some Wink of Stella and white uniball of course! I attached those to the circle and also attached some clear sparkly sequins.
Another completely different looking card with the same stamp set! For this one, I used the tree stamp and all of the little leaves and flower stamps to decorate it. First I watercolored a background on watercolor paper. Then I stamped the tree on watercolor paper and die-cut it. I painted it brown. I diet a stitched rectangle out of white cardstock and then used the LF hillside border dies to cut the rectangle into two pieces. I attached the first to a light coral card base. The I attached the watercolored rectangle over it. Last I attached the white cardstock hill over that piece. I attached the tree over the top. I stamped all of the little leaves in several colors of Lawn Fawn and Simon inks which are all linked below. I added some flower sequins by Pretty Pink Posh. I added the sun stamp and the two birds. I also die-cut the word Congratulations from white cardstock and attached that to the bottom of the card.
For this tag, I started with a tag die by Simon Says Stamp cut from Ranger watercolor paper (I love how much texture it has and the solid white color of this paper). I watercolored a blue background. I stamped and die-cut the items from the stamp set and colored them with Copics. I attached these items to the tag. I added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins and twine.
Whew, done! Which card is your favorite? I told you I love this stamp set - it has so much versatility and I love the little words it has in it. They are perfect for using on many cards as sub-titles to bigger word stamps. I hope you enjoyed these creations today! Join me on Friday for a fun Simon Blog Hop showing their new dies and felt - so much fun!!! Thanks for visiting! Suzy

I loved the tree card. Such pretty colours. I have no idea how you manage to have the time to produce so many beautiful cards. Sometimes I am delighted to create one.
