Today I am sharing FIVE cards using the Mama Elephant Chance of Rain stamp set. Mama Elephant is one of my FAVORITE stamp lines. They make the cutest little people stamps and this set is no exception! Since it is almost Spring and since CA is going through El Nino season, I thought it would be fun to use a set about rain. Here is the darling little stamp set:
I love that this set has so many salutations - five in total. So I used one for each of my five cards. They all fit perfectly on the cloud stamp in the set. I also purchased the dies that go with the stamps making it WAY easier to cut them out! Here is my first card:
I stamped the little girl and umbrella on Canson Mixed Media paper and painted them with watercolors. I stamped the sentiment on a stitched rectangle from the inside of the Storybook 1 dies by Pretty Pink Posh. I stamped some little red hearts around it using Lawn Fawn Lobster ink (perfect bright red). I added little dots with a white Uniball marker to the umbrella and raincoat. For the background I die-cut two stitched rectangles - the smaller one is out of watercolor paper. I rubbed Stormy Sky Distress Ink on the smaller one in an oval shape using a Ranger Blending Tool. I layered the rectangles on a white card base and attached all the elements onto the inked area. I stamped some little rain drops with the Ranger Stormy Sky ink.
For this card, I stamped the kids, umbrella, and cloud on Neenah White Cardstock (110 lb one as it works so much better with Copic markers than the 80 lb paper - they don't bleed as much). I colored them in with Copic markers and added details with a white Uniball. I die-cut a stitched rectangle from watercolor paper and painted some teal watercolor on it to frame the kids. I also splattered some watercolor over the background. I added all the stamped images and attached the rectangle to a coral pink card base. This card uses my favorite colors!
This card is really busy! I started with a white card base. I die-cut grass and clouds using the Mama Elephant Landscape Trio die-set (one of my best die purchases ever!). I painted them with watercolors and attached them to the top and bottom of the card. I stamped, die-cut, and watercolored all of the cute elements and attached them over the background. I stamped the sentiment on the clouds above and added some raindrops and little hearts with Lobster ink.
I like to show different ways to use each stamp set, so I wanted to try and make a card without a little person or bear! For this one, I first die-cut a large stitched rectangle (card front size) out of Canson mixed media paper. I then painted it using Ranger Stormy Sky ink (this ink is perfect for stormy skies! haha). I then stamped some of the raindrop stamps on the background. Next, I die-cut three clouds and 3 umbrellas out of mixed media paper (love that it is pure white) (I also love parenthesis if you haven't noticed) (but I can't spell it). I painted the clouds with watercolors and a wink of stella pen to add sheen. I painted the three umbrellas with watercolors and used a white uniball to add details. I now see that I forgot one of the umbrella handles! I added all the elements to the card and stamped the sentiment on the center cloud using SSS Intense Black Ink. I added some Pretty Pink Posh sparkly sequins to the clouds last and attached all to a card base.
These little people are the perfect size for tags! This is the largest tag in a set I love by Paper Smooches - I die cut it out of watercolor paper (Ranger so it is thick but pure white). I painted the inside of the tag with watercolor. I stamped the elements on Neenah white cardstock and die-cut them out and colored all of them with Copic markers. I added white dots with a Uniball. I stamped the sentiment on the smallest oval in the SSS Oval die set. I attached all to the tag and added some twine.
I hope you enjoyed this adorable stamp set by Mama Elephant. I'm working on another post using their Sunday Stroll set. And then I feel like I have earned the right to buy a few more of their new sets! Hope you have a great weekend and THANK YOU SO MUCH for the nice comments you have been leaving. The feedback makes the time it takes to do these posts so worth it! I love knowing I might have motivated and/or inspired someone to create something! Suzy
Oh gosh, these are some great cards! I like all the bitty details you add to give them just a bit more something something. I like Mama Elephant images, but I don't own any stamps yet. What you've created here is definitely tempting me! But I can't wait to see what you do with Sunday Stroll...hee, hee. (I like parentheses, too)! :)

Beautiful work, Suzy. I find it hard to imagine what stamp sets will look like when used, so your one set with five examples is perfect for me. I feel a little shopping coming on. Thank you.
