Hello Hello Hello! I know Valentine's Day isn't here yet, but are you ready for some Easter inspiration??? Today I was the guest blogger for a new stamp company called Sunny Studio Stamps. They are totally MY style - cutesy and cute all at the same time - haha. I worked with two sets in their new release for spring. Here are my two cards with details about each.
This set is called Backyard Bugs and it has so many cute images of critters and nature. I used the two mushrooms, a little pot with a flower, a baby lady bug, and a butterfly. I painted them all with watercolor paints. For the background of the card, I painted stripes of watercolor on watercolor paper. I then used the stitched border stamp in this set in between each stripe to add a pattern with Lawn Fawn Wild Rose ink. I used a Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle and matted it on a card base. The sentiment is stamped with Walnut Lawn Fawn ink.
My next Card uses the You're a Good Egg stamp set which is perfect for Easter Cards.
I stamped all of the images using Ranger Archival Black Ink as it is waterproof. I then watercolored all of the images. I stamp them on Canson Mixed Media paper as it is pure white and not as thick as watercolor paper (98 lbs instead of 140 lbs). This lighter weight makes it much easier to cut things out of it. Because I don't mind cutting, I don't usually buy the dies that go with stamp sets which is a way more economical way to do it! I highly recommend using these pads though as fussy cutting is so much easier! So after I watercolored all of these items, I fussy cut them out.
I used Lawn Fawn Pink Flamingo ink for the salutation and I stamped it on a banner from the Home Sweet Home stamp set. I use this banner all the time as many sentiments fit on it perfectly. I used Glossy Accents on all the eggs so they have a sheen and dimension. For the grass, I used the Lawn Fawn stitched hillside border dies and layered them on rectangles cut from the Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle sets. I layered them all and painted the sky with light blue watercolor. I tucked some of the eggs into the grass so it looks like Miss Chick is going on an egg hunt!
I hope you enjoyed these two cards today. Simon Says Stamp just recently picked this stamp line up, so I hope you are able to add some Sunny Studio Stamps to your stamp collection! They are some of my favorites now! Have a great day and happy early Valentine's Day friends! Suzy
