Hi friends! I have a new stamp set called Hello Friends that I designed for Simon Says Stamp. I'm super excited about this little baby - it's only 3" x 4" big. I made the set with floral wreaths in mind and little words that would fit inside them. The wreaths will fit perfectly on the front of your cards. Here is an image of the set:
I made several cards using it to show you how the images look in the form of a wreath. Here they are together:
Here are some close up images and basic directions and supplies I used for each card.
For this first card, I watercolored a wash of blues and greens (directions on how to do this type of watercolor wash are in my Big Picture Classes watercolor class which I wrote about in my last post or you can take HERE - they currently have one month FREE trial!). I die cut a stitched rectangle using the Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle die set. I attached that to a scallop edged larger rectangle from the My Favorite Things Blueprints 20 set using white card stock. The card base is made with MFT Blu-Raspberry card stock. For the wreath, I arranged the stamps into a circle shape on white card stock and painted them with watercolor paints. I trimmed around the edges and attached it to the front of the watercolored piece.
For this next card, I started with a card base made out of Canson watercolor paper (my favorite watercolor paper for cards). I did a light wash on the front using watercolors. I die cut a circle from the top of the center of the card leaving a stitched outlined circle on the card base. I love this circle die set from Simon Says Stamp because the stitches are on both the circle it cuts out and the card stock you cut it from. I stamped flowers from my set around the circle and then added the circle I cut out of the watercolor paper to the inside of the card fitting exactly in the circular shape. I stamped my sentiment inside the card with my set. I added the cutest twine and bow die set that I painted on watercolor paper first using a new die set by Pretty Pink Posh. I popped a Pretty Pink Posh blue sequin to the center of the bow and it was done!
Well, look at that! Another wreath card! See, I really like this stamp set to make wreaths. For this one, I stamped the flowers AND the sentiment on a piece of watercolor paper using black Archival Ink (as it is waterproof). I watercolored all the flowers and a little bit of blue around the flowers (very watered down so it is light). I added some Pretty Pink Posh clear small sequins to the background. I die cut the watercolor paper into a stitched rectangle and then die cut a second stitched rectangle using Razzle Berry Cardstock by MFT. For the stitched rectangles I used the large and small sets by Lawn Fawn.
For this last card, I didn't make a wreath - yeehaw - clever me! I stamped the images on watercolor paper (same one listed above by Canson) using colored inks and then watercolored them in with the same color so there are no outlines. Don't they look perdy this way?!?!?!?! I randomly stamped them all over the front of the card and added some of the same sequins I listed on the last card in-between them. To finish the card, I cut a small rectangle from the Lawn Fawn small rectangle set (smallest one) and stamped friends on it. I used a white Uniball marker to add the stitches and fill in the heart.
I also made some small sentiment tags with the stamp set to use on future cards. At the end of this post is a list of all the products I used on the cards and these tags. I hope you want to buy and enjoy my new stamp set! If you post anything using it please tag me on Instagram - my user name is suzyplant. Thank you for visiting my blog today! Have a great weekend, Suzy
