Hello friends and Pretty Pink Posh lovers! Today I am part of a blog hop announcing/showcasing their new August product release. It contains three new dies shown above and some new sequin colors - whooohoooo. There is also a Facebook page dedicated to this release party HERE. I LOVE LOVE LOVE PPP sequins - I just recently discovered them and had to order a bunch as they come in such pretty colors! I also loved working with these dies as they cut perfectly and are so well made! Ok, on to my creations...
I made three cards with their new products all shown in the image above. They incorporate all three of the new dies. Here is each card with details of how I made them:
My first card is a Happy Birthday card and it uses the new Twine and Bows die. I love how this die allows you to add the look of twine and bows without the bulk. This would be perfect for cards you are sending in the mail and also for scrapbook or project life pages where you want to keep your pages flat. This card also uses the new Stitched Speech Bubbles which includes three dies in different shapes. They are the perfect size for cards and small salutation stamps. And they have stitched edges - an added bonus as I don't think I have seen any speech bubbles that are stitched before.
Both of these are die-cut from a sheet of watercolor paper that I painted with several colors of paint in a wet wash letting the colors blend together.
This cute little stamp set is by Jane's Doodles (link at the bottom of this post). I used watercolors to paint them all in and to paint the background. I included some sequins from THIS set on the card as well. Here is a close up image:
My second card also uses the Twine and Bow die set as well as the Storybook 1 die set. I die cut the twine and bows from a piece of watercolored paper again this time using a mix of blue/aqua shades of paint. This way it matches the flowers on my card which are also watercoloredl. I used the Wplus9 Doodle Buds stamp set (link at bottom of post).
I die-cut the rectangle shape from a turquoise card base first. Then I die cut it again from a piece of watercolored paper using pink paint in a wash. I used the same color paint as I used in my flower center so it all matched. I aligned the pieces from the inside of the die on the inside of the card fitting perfectly inside the frame. I love how you can use both the outside and the inside of this die together like a puzzle. It is definitely one of my new favorite dies! I put the salutation on one of the inside pieces.
Here is a close up of the card. I also used a Blessed die by WPlus 9 that came with the die set that goes with the Doodle Buds stamp set (link at bottom). I used the same technique for this one - die cut it from a piece of watercolored paper. I made sure to use all three of the colors in the card on this painted paper.
My last card is my first shaker card ever - I am so proud of myself as I have been scared to try one! The Storybook 1 dies are just perfect for creating the outside edges of a shaker. I simply die-cut the shaker (yes, out of a piece of watercolored paper again - the outside edges of the pieces I used on the card above) and then cut it to be a little smaller than the card base. I used pop dots behind this piece and attached it to another die-cut piece using the inside of the dies. I put them back in their "shell" so they are solid on the inside. I hope that makes sense! In other words, you can use this die in so many ways by using both the insides and the outsides OR the inside with the outsides!!! There, now I'm sure I've confused you! (((if anyone is reading all this detail that is))).
The inside piece of this shaker card is also watercolored. I am teaching a watercolor class over at Big Picture Classes right now, so I couldn't resist using watercolor on everything I made! I painted the stamped images as well. They are all from a My Favorite Things stamp/die set called Things With Wings (link below). I also used a bunch of sequins on the inside of this card from the Pretty Pink Posh Summer Mix.
Now before you leave, I have ONE MORE THING to tell you! And if you haven't noticed, I like to talk, so stay with me here... There are TWO $25 gift certificates up for grabs during this blog hop. Suzy, you make every manufacturer's products look like a "must have". I have also been hesitant to try a shaker card, but yours is just so "happy". I may actually try one this time. Thanks!
