Simon Says Stamps New Product Release

Hey Friends! I'm blogging! Oh me oh my - it's been so long!

I got busy? Summer was here? AND I'm teaching a watercolor class at Big Picture Classes that I was preparing for non-stop for the past two months. I will blog about the class next. But TODAY is all about the new Simon Says Stamps product release that goes on sale today!

I made two cards using my favorite stamp set in the set called Pool Fun. Here they are:

Aren't those little kids cute??? I love that you can add the funny creatures to the front of their inner tubes. I didn't figure that out until I made card number two though! I had to ask my daughters what they were for. haha

Here is the first card with directions on how I made it:

I stamped the two little kids on watercolor paper and used watercolors to paint them in. I also painted the background with watercolors. I added some of the other cute stamps in the set for the fish and water spouts and bubbles. I also used the cute Fun in the Sun greeting for the front of the card. I cut the card base out using the largest size stitched rectangle from the Lawn Fawn die set. I used an MFT set for the little banner that holds the greeting. The last thing I did is add Glossy Accents to the top of the masks. There are links to all of the products I used at the end of this blog post.

I also stamped these images on watercolor paper. For this card, I used Distress Inks for the background. I painted a layer of water around the kids first and then added the color using a wet on wet technique. I love how the three blues blended on the background. I used Black Soot for the gray concrete using the same method. I dripped some water on the background and sopped it up with a napkin to take some of the color away leaving little bubble looking spots. I let it dry before painting the kids in with watercolor. This time I added the cute creatures to the front of each inner tube by stamping them separately, painting them in, and then cutting them out and glueing on. i added Glossy Accents to the masks again and to the creatures eyes.

Last I made a little project life card with this same stamp set and Simon Says Stamps inks (links below to the colors I used). I love how you can use the set in so many ways - very detailed as shown above or super simple as shown here.
