Today Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge Blog has a challenge called "B is for" ... What does B stand for in your life? I thought about this all morning and realized I have a B word that is my favorite place in the whole wide world. If you have ever read my blog before or follow me on IG (suzyplant), I'm sure you know what that word is. B is for BEACH. I'm a beach lover in every sense of the word!
I realized I have a Beach card that I've been meaning to share. This card is titled "Hey Gillfriend" and it uses two adorable stamp sets of underwater creatures by Paper Smooches called Briny Blue and Surf & Turf. To make the background of the card, I used a dotted embossing folder and Neenah white card stock. To make the tag, I used a tag die-cut by My Favorite Things with white card stock. Then I used a water stencil by Simon Says Stamp with Ranger inks to make the water marks. I rubbed the Distress inks on using a Ranger blending tool. I mixed several colors including Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, and Broken China.
To make the sea creatures, I first stamped them using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored them in with Copic markers. I cut them out and applied some Wink of Stella pen to some for a glittery affect and then added some Glossy Accents for sheen. I layered them on top of the tag and then stamped "hey gill-friend" above them. I added some bubble stamps from the sets as well and applied glossy accents and while it was wet, poured some white glitter on the bubbles.
I hope you enjoyed my "B is For" creation. Please visit the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog to see all the other interpretations of this challenge! Happy Monday! And now I think I will go take a walk on the beach ... Suzy
This card is just adorable! You did a fabulous job and I love how whimsical and fun it is!
