I have another card to share with you today. And maybe a funny story or two as I always like to share those! This one uses a darling little set by Lawn Fawn called Home Sweet Home. It looks like it is intended for birds with their cute little houses, but I made it into a human house card!
Here are the steps and products I used - there are links at the bottom of this post. I will start taking step shots on my next cards so it is easier to follow what I did.
First I used the Stitched Rectangle Die-Cuts by Lawn Fawn to cut out a teal card stock rectangle and a white watercolor paper rectangle. On the white one, I painted it with water and then added some Distress inks to the water in an ombre fashion. I used the following colors: Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry, and Festive Berries.
Next, I stamped the three little houses on a white card stock circle. I masked the center house so I could stamp the outside two over the center one so they appeared to be behind it. I then colored the houses with Copic markers making each one ombre going from dark to light. I stamped the sentiment and the little hearts in the set around the houses.
I attached the circle to the center of the painted watercolor rectangle. I then doodled around that circle so it had a little outline to make it stand out more. I added a scallop border using the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Circle Stackables set. I glued some Lawn Fawn twine around the edge of the circles and tied a bow at the bottom.
This photo was taken in my house with lights on it because I was trying to show the glitter on the center house. I used a Wink of Stella clear marker over the house to make it shine and stand out. I used glossy accents over the heart on the house again to make it pop.
And that my friends is my Home Sweet Home card. Now for a funny story. Let me think on that one....Oh I know one! So on my last blog post, I told the story of how I tried to meet Kristina Werner at CHA. After I posted this, I went on her latest IG photo and said I quote "I blogged about you". I didn't put any details as I just wanted her to be curious enough to come and see what I had said! This morning I woke up with the worst headache at 4:00 am and I checked my phone as I was not going to go back to sleep. I saw she had left a comment on my last post and that made me laugh so hard! You might want to go read it - very funny. And now I am going to go back to sleep as getting up at 4:00 am is so not my thing!
Happy Wednesday. Oh, I almost forgot! I'm entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog as again, I'm all about winning a gift certificate to their amazing store (which carries every product I used on this card)! Pick me, pick me, pick me! I can't get enough critter stamps lately. I even called my dogs critters yesterday - someone help me. My OCD has kicked in and Lawn Fawn is the lucky recipient! haha
bye bye xo
