Oh me oh my - I had more fun with these Walden kits then I can remember in a long time! I loved the colors and the stamps - a winning combination for me. I also LOVE LOVE the holiday add-on (Garland Road) as it got me in the mood for holiday scrapping! I made several projects and I'm still working on more - although STUDIO CALICO reveal is tomorrow - MONDAY OCTOBER 27TH so I better hurry!
First let me share with you some sneaks from a fall spread I made with only the Walden project life kit with some little details about how I used the products.
I cut the FALL title out of an orange project life card. The hearts were stamped with the heart stamp in the project life kit. Aren't these colors gorgeous? I used several of the Color Theory inks for the stamping which are listed below. The diamond shapes are from the washi tape in the kit. Love how they allow you to customize your PL cards.
More of the hearts here. There is a vellum card with a tree on it which I love - I placed it over white cardstock. The yellow string/cording is awesome - it let me add a lot of detail to my spreads.
The alpha in the kits is the small aqua green one above. The other elements here are printables from the labels and this set. There is also a set of blue and white labels with gold sentiments on some. These sneak uses two of my favorite PL cards - they have the look of watercolor to them which I love love!
I made my weekly title card using more of the yellow hemp/cording/string/twine stuff (haha). The ampersand is from THIS printable More of my watercolored hearts here too.
This is an 8.5X11" insert I made with the hearts I stamped and watercolored. I used several colors of Color Theory Inks including Lime Light, Orange County, Coral Bay, Yes Peas, and the newest inks from this BUNDLE (clear blue, grey area, poppy, lemon zest, and creme brulee). One of the things I love about these inks is how they blend with water placed on them which gives you the watercolor look. I use the water brush to acheive this look and I'm going to blog instructions on how I made these hearts before reveal.
After I was done with all my fall scrapping, I decided to work on my December Daily 2013 album using one of the NEW SC handbooks - the LINEN CLOTH one. I made four spreads using the Garland Road add-on kit and some of my leftovers from the Firchburg and Walden project life kits. I also used the HOLIDAY add on stamp set and the Christmas project life card add on set. Here are some sneaks:
The album comes with 10 6x8" page protectors, two of each style. This one has little 2" pockets. I took several of the small embellishments and stuffed them in the pockets and stitched up the top of them. I love little pockets - they are so fun to embellish! These little images are from the Christmas project life card add-on set.
The word JOY was stamped using the new POPPY ink pad. It is in the Garland Road add-on kit. The string/twine/hemp/rope/cording (every time I type that I come up with more words to describe it - feel free to enlighten me with the proper name as I love blog comments!!!) - I attached that stuff to the card using Glossy Accents. The doodle on the right side is my design.
One of my favorite items in the kits this month is the Holiday add-on stamp set. I made so many images with it one night and then cut them all out to use on my pages. Here is a picture of those:
After I stamped them with the ink colors I listed above, I outlined them with a fine tip black marker twice and tehn cut them out. I don't do this kind of detailed work because I have too much time on my hands - I really am a very busy person! I do it because I LOVE doing it. I cut while my family watches TV. Weird, but true! Cheaper than therapy! But back to the point - aren't those words so cute and so trendy right now?!?!?!?!?
I used gold glitter over glossy accents over white paint on the deer head wood veneer here. I posted an image of this card on IG and my husband saw it and thought it looked like a bit of Georgia O'Keeffe's work. Hmmm (not intentional I say!!!).
Here is a better view of the vellum overlay I made to start my December Daily - kind of like wrapping a gift in tissue paper first! By using vellum, it gives you just a sneak of what's underneath. To make this, I cut a piece of 12x12 VELLUM to be a little larger than the page protectors in the album 6.5" x 8.5". I then took the Walden Background cut file by Paige Evans and printed the 8.5x11" sized one. This file is meant to be cut, but it also works as a print file. You just open it in Photoshop Elements and print it. Once I had it printed on white cardstock, I layed the vellum on top of the cardstock so I could see the pattern underneath. I attached it lightly at the corners so it didn't move around and poked holes through the vellum and cardstock at each end of the little designs. This made stitching it very easy as the holes were all punched. Lucky for me, it was a good TV night, so I stitched away as I watched the Biggest Loser and Grey's!
I'm going to wrap up this blog post with those little visuals. But come back in the AM before reveal if you want to see my post about how I made the watercolored hearts. I will see you during the chats tomorrow I hope - 8:00 am pst for subscribers and 8:00 pm pst for non-subscribers. HAPPY REVEAL DAY! Suzy
