Yippee - SC asked me to design a stamp set for back to school a few months ago. I thought it would be fun to try my hand at drawings rather than just text for stamps. After about 5,000 drawings, I came up with this set:
It's a bit playful for those back to school projects for kids. It would be good for cards (as it was intended), but I also really like it for project life cards. I created a few projects using it to show you some ideas:
I never know what to do with all my school photos. I wanted to put together a little mini album of the girls through their school years. Each page will be a 4x6 card with their picture from that year. On the back of each card, I'll write the details of their year like who was their teacher, who were their friends, what they accomplished, etc... Then I'll attach them all together with a ring in the top left corner. It will be fun to flip through it and see how they have changed through the years. You could also add some other photos from their year on the back of the cards. I want to keep it simple though as just a school overview showing their progress.
There are several words in the set to stamp on the notebook paper. Or you can add the bus or the U rule - they all fit. I decided to just write a note on the paper to my daughter. This is another idea for the mini album which I think I will call School Days. You could list the year, their teacher's name, and other details on the notebook paper. There are numbers in the set as well for the year and age.
Here is a card from my son's album (which I have yet to make, but have good plans to do so!). I put a tab on the top edge that shows the grade. The set includes the numbers and also the little "nd", "st", etc... to complete the grade. I think the pencil in the set is my favorite item!
I made this card for a project life album, so it is 3" x 4". Most of the items in the set are the perfect size for project life cards. The alphabet fits across the bottom of a 4x6 card.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE what the talented Julie Campbell did with this set.
She made a whole array of projects to inspire you! There are also several cute cards in the SC gallery with the set. I hope you like it for your back to school projects and thanks so much for visiting! xoxo suzy
