If you are tired of the winter time blues and want spring here NOW, you can purchase my Spring Has Sprung stamp set in two more days!!! Woooooooohooooooey!
Today I made a layout that was SOOOO Springy that I titled it after my stamp set, Spring Has Sprung!
There are several techniques on this page I want to tell you about, so I'll show you close up images and then how I did it. I used the "two step stamping" flowers from my new set inside the Die-namics Tall Grassy Edge border. I used the little fence from the new Die-namics Sunflower Sweetheart set.
I stamped the flowers with black ink on white cardstock. Then I added the flat stamp over the outlines in pink, yellow or blue. I stamped the leaves and then cut them out. I added glitter to the flowers using glossy accents. I think the glitter looks really fun and makes the flowers stand out more. I only added it inside the outlines, not on all the color. I inserted the flowers into the grass - I used three sets of the grass border so it is layered. I stamped one of my borders from my Borders and Accents set along the bottom of the grass.
I made this layout without ANY patterned paper. I created the background using the new gorgeous Funky Floral Stencil. I layed the stencil on the pink cardstock and blocked the edges with scratch paper. I sprayed it with white mist. I moved the stencil and sprayed it some more blocking the parts I didn't want to cover. After the mist dried, I used art crayons to color in parts of the flowers for a subtle look. I like how it turned out - prettier in real life, but very subtle. I will have to try this again with all the MFT stencils! I added the new Die-namics Bright Lights Alphabet for the title. I cut the letters out of white cardstock and then I used gel pens to color in the little dots (I left them in the die-cut letters so I was coloring over the white dots). This little bit of color made the letters stand out more. I LOVE THIS ALPHABET!!! So many great new products this month.
And that's all for today my friends! Speaking of spring, hop on over to the MFT blog to see all of the other DT posts and to leave a comment so you are eligible for the daily gift certificates. Hoppy shopping on March 11th at 7:00 pm pst! Suzy
