Today is the first day of the My Favorite Things Release Rewind. This is when the products are now on sale and the design team gets to show you just a few more creations to get you inspired and ready to use your new goodies! Today I have two projects to show you. This scrapbook page came together a bit quicker than yesterday's page thank goodness! Every now and then I have a photo that just NEEDS to be blown up big to give it the focus it deserves. This shot of a wave at my local beach was definitely one of those photos and it gave me a perfect chance to use some of the new nautical products.
I wanted to focus on some of the other MFT products today instead of just my set (Borders and Accents), but I also fit some of them on here. I used Kraft cardstock for the background and mounted the picture which is 8.5x11 in the center.
I used the new Making Waves Die-namics to create a wave border along the bottom edge of the photo. I added in a sailboat with the new Die-namics Sailboat. I also added one of the steering wheels (is that what that is?!?!?!) from the new Die-namics Let's Get Nautical set. And with that, I felt I had given the new nautical products their chance and was ready to throw in some of my Borders and Accents set - haha! I used one of my borders around the outside edge of the photo, but this time I stamped it in red ink. I liked seeing it in a different color - it is less dramatic looking this way, but still adds a playful feel to the layout. I used the swirly border stamp along the top and bottom edge of the layout with white ink - again to add some playfulness and make the layout more my style. I stamped the smallest size heart along the bottom edge of the waves and the three circle designs on top of the photo corners with white ink as well. I used the new Die-namics Little Lowercase Letters for the title. I couldn't decide between white or red, so I did some in each color, overlapping them so they looked like they were shadowed. And with that, it was DONE!
Next, I made a card and this time I did NOT use my set - go me! I wanted it to be more classy and elegant. I just love the Forget Me Knot Die-namics and Stamp set. I added a border to the inside edge so it showed along the front.
The inside of the card photographed a really weird color - but it is green like the front! I used some more of the flowers on the inside to finish it off.
I hope you have all enjoyed the MFT February new product release and that you were able to stock up on lots of new stamps and dies! They have the best new products every single month! And maybe you even won one of the gift certificates? See you back in a few weeks for the March excitement! Thanks for all your nice comments this week! xoxo suzy
