...Is Here!
Today at 7:00 pm pst you can purchase all of the new MFT products from the February release. And if you are reading this, it's already that time of day! I hope you all like my new set - I think this Borders and Accents set is the most versatile of all of my sets yet and perfect to go with all of the others. I have three projects to share with you today using this set as well as other MFT products. And here we go...
Up first is a layout. I spend SO much time on my layouts - getting this one right took me just about all day today and I'm still not sure I like it. But I'll let you decide!
I started with a 12x12 piece of patterned paper. I added some more paper to the top and bottom edge in two colors and then used a row of my scalloped border to frame the center of the layout. It took three of the 4" strips (plus a little piece) to cover the 12".
Making the heart was a little tricky, so follow along with me here. I cut a heart die-cut from the Die-namics Transformables Heart Full of Love (released last month) out of white cardstock. I lightly traced it with pencil on another piece of white cardstock. I took the scallop edged border stamp (above) and placed it on the stamping block. I placed the block over the penciled heart and moved the border to fit around the edges of the heart. I did the long sides first since there was less bending needed using the 4" stamp. Next I took the 3" stamp and bent it around the top edge of the heart. This sounds harder than it was - it really wasn't bad at all! It didn't turn out perfect (look closely), but I really like it. I cut out the inside of the pencil heart and then placed the border over the die-cut heart. I colored it all in with markers stamping Celebrate Life from my first set in the center.
I used the scallop border from under the "sweet little memories" stamp under the cloud. I often cut pieces off my stamps so I can get more use out of them using them seperately.
I used two of the black and white checked borders here cut out. I had some left over from other things, so you can tell the top one is embossed (darker) and the bottom one is not. I also used the little LOVE stamp along the top of the journaling in black ink and then used a white uniball marker behind it as a shadow.
I stamped the smallest heart all over the cloud in red ink. I cut out one of the largest sized hearts and put that on the corner of the cloud. I made a border on teh left side using the three swirly designs in black ink. I think I used just about every stamp in the set on this layout!
Next up are two cards. Considering how long the layout took, I made both of these cards VERY fast. Cards are just so much easier to make (for me anyway) as I don't second guess everything with less space to work on.
I stamped the be-you-tiful sentiment from my first set, Celebrate Life, on a gray tag with black ink. I colored in the letters with a white Uniball again (my favorite white marker ever!). I bordered the sentiment with the black and white checked border. I added the scallop edged border to the edge of the card. I cut one of the largest hearts out and put that on top with a flower from the Jumbo Party Hat Die-namics. A few enamel dots and some twine and it was done! The twine matches much better in real life - not sure why it looks different in the photo.
For the inside of the card, I stamped the Love You sentiment from my Celebrate Life set. I added another border along the bottom edge.
For this card, I stamped "good times" from my first set on a 3x4 project life sized card. I used the circle border stamps along the edges. They are perfectly sized for this type of card. I colored them all in with Copic markers. I added a border along the bottom edge and two of the hearts over the birds. I used the gorgeous Houndstooth Cover-Up Die-namic for the background of the card.
For the inside I used my favorite Loopy Border Die-namic, one of my borders and a couple of my other stamps - love and a heart. Whew, all done! It was a long day of scrapping, but aren't those the best days ever?
I hope you have enjoyed all of the February new products and all of the DT creations this month. I can't wait for a new one to start - creating with the MFT products is always SO much fun! Happy shopping day friends! suzy
I can't believe you got all of these done in one day - it would have taken me two weeks just to do the layout. It's beautiful. So, so, pretty!
