It's Sugar-Rush reveal day at Studio Calico! I worked with the project life kit as well as the card kits this month. I also used the adorable add-on stamp set called Lollies and lots of the digital products. At the subscriber reveal, all of the add-on's sold out, but there will be more available at full reveal tonight at 9:00 pm pst.
Here are my two project life spreads I made using the PL kits. To see more images, you can visit the design team gallery. The gallery projects this month are so amazing - such a talented group of girls and I'm so happy to be a part of them! I made both of these spreads about CHA Winter as I had A LOT of photos. They will fit between two of my weeks in my project life album.
This first spread was made using ONLY THE PROJECT LIFE KIT:
This next spread was made using the rest of my PL kit as well as the two add-on PL kits, Cherry Sours and Ring Pops and the stamp add-on called Lollies.
Next, I worked with the Sugar-Rush card kit and the Taffy card add on kit. I made six cards and I'm no where near done playing with these two kits. I want to make at least a few more while my supplies are out!
For this first card, I enlarged the little people which are digital stamps from the card kit. To enlarge a digital stamp, you just copy it to your paper and then move one of the cursors in the corner to make it bigger. I also edited the skirt and jeans to be white by selecting those areas with my selection tool and then removed them. I wanted to be able to color in there entire bodies with Copic markers. I cut them out and then colored them for the front of my card. Here is a picture of the digital stamps using the stamp sets from both the card kit and the Taffy add - on. They are so worth the money as there is a lot you can do with the stamps and they are super easy to use!
The next card I made using ONLY digital items!
I used a digital cut file for the "love you always" cut from white cardstock. Next, I took a turquoise and lime green ink pad and rubbed them all over the front of the cardstock. I just attached that to a white card base and used a printable for the center of the O and some stars from last month's Copper Mountain kits. Here are the cut files I used:
My next card was made using the stamp set from the Taffy add-on. I loved the hexagon pattern in this set, so I used it a few times on white cardstock. To stamp it, I pressed the full stamp on a light pink ink pad, then some of it on a medium pink ink pad, and then just a little of it on a red ink pad. It gave it a blended look. The word LOVE is from the digital cut files above.
While in the white simple card mood, I made this one. It made a cut file from the digital card kit stamps shown above. I just opened the file in Silhoette software, resized the image, and traced around it to create a cut file. I also used the card kit and card kit add-on. The sentiment is from the Taffy stamp set. The first paper strip on the top is from the Taffy paper pad sheet that is in the front of each pad - I just cut it off that.
After a couple of simple cards, I wanted to do a more detailed one. This one starts with a paper from the Taffy add-on. Then I used the balloon stamps from that kit - I stamped them on white cardstock and cut them out. I went over the white dots on the balloons with a white Uniball marker. For the sentiment, I used the card kit stamp set. I stamped it first with black ink and then stamped it over that with embossing ink and white ZING embossing powder. The balloon "strings" and bow were also cut from the card kit digital stamp set seen above.
My last card was the most time consuming. I started by stamping the background using the card kit stamp set kite. I used the inking process mentioned above for the hexagons mixing two colors of pink ink. Next, I again made a cut file from the card kit digital stamps shown above in the shape of a balloon - I enlarged it. After I attached it to the front of the card, I used french knots in all of the balloon holes. Then I put a thick coat of glossy accents over the balloon and added some glittery embossing powder and used my heat gun to set it.
Here is a close up image of the balloon:
Did you make it through all that Sugar-Rush inspiration?!?!?! I hope so! Now don't forget to go shopping at reveal tonight at 9:00 pm pst and join us for the reveal chat at 8:00 pm pst. xoxo suzy
