... to the new December product release! You can go to the My Favorite Things website on TUESDAY, DECEMBER 10TH AT 7:00 pm pst and purchase any of the new products you want. Or all of the new products you want. Or every single product MFT sells. Yes, that would be MY Christmas wish!
I don't know if anyone takes the time to read all my words. I say a lot of words sometimes. But yesterday I admitted that I wasn't sure about my card. The grunge look was bothering me. I almost photoshopped all the grunge off the front of the card, but I decided it was better to embrace the grunge. So in the mode of staying completely honest, I need to admit something else - something I probably SHOULDN'T publically admit. But this is just to my little group of blog readers, so I feel safe. TODAY I LOVE MY CARD! Yep, so inappropriate, but I said it. After spending about three hours on one card, I have satisfied myself - my toughest critic. Now to shutting up and hoping YOU like it too!
See, what's NOT to like? We've got my two favorite colors - pinks and blues. We have one of the cutest little girl stamps I've ever seen - a MUST have for every girl stamper I say! And we have my latest stamp set, Be Your Best Self. So here is the how and the what: I started with a 5x7 card made from my favorite MFT pink cardstock that is more of a salmon pink - Bubblegum. Next, I stamped my Mother Teresa quote on smooth white cardstock. I rounded the corners and mounted it on two pieces of vellum for a layered look. I colored the Doodle Garden Springtime Wishes girl in with Copics and cut her out. I then stamped her again, recolored and cut out the flowers and the bow and the skirt. I placed those over the original girl and used pop dots underneath so she would be more dimensional. I think I have to have every single Doodle Garden girl - I just LOVE them!
I made the paper behind the girl starting with a piece of Blu Raspberry cardstock. I used the DC Washi Patterns stamp set. I started with the dots and stamped them all over the paper in strips using Blu Raspberry ink. I first stamped it on scrap paper so it wouldn't be as dark. Next, I stamped another one of the washi patterns using Sweet Tooth ink. I love how you can see the dots underneath the white. What I really love is creating my own unique patterned paper with stamps. It's fun and super fulfilling! I also used the dot washi stamp along the edges of my quote.
I tied a very large bow, added a fabric flower and a resin flower and moved along to the inside.
Another reason I liked this card was that little doggie. He comes with a sweater! I just didn't have time to put his sweater on today. I used another one of my sentiments from my new set and the doggy is from the Wendy Burns Best Friends stamp set. I also used the new Blueprints 10 Die-namics for the two rectangles with rounded corners. I added some trim along the bottom hanging over the edge so it shows from the front. I tend to do that on every card I make - I should try shaking things up a bit!
So that's it for today. Don't forget to check out all of the DT blogs starting on the MFT blog. I love seeing what they create each day - such a talented group! And come back later today to see some more creations and to start your shopping!!! Thanks for visiting, Suzy
Always good to tell the truth!! LOVE how you combined all of these stamps to make your ADORABLE, adorable card :)
