I can't believe we are almost coming to the end of a year that I have been working with the Studio Calico kits to make my project life spreads. I cannot say enough how much I LOVE the kits and how they have made my PL spreads so easy to come together. They give me the challenge of working with new products each month - trendy up to date products. I love the process and definitely plan on continuing project life for 2014. How about you? How has your 2013 PL process gone and do you plan on continuing?
For most of the weeks in the summer months, I had too many pictures for one spread. So I ended up doing two full spreads or an insert. This week was no exception! You can click on any of these images to see them larger, or you can go to my November Cuppa Kit gallery on Studio Calico to see lots of individual images and close ups of each page.
Week 32a (using ONLY the Studio Calico project life kit):
The Cuppa Project Life kit is still available for purchase so if you like this spread above, you can still buy this kit - I LOVED THIS PL KIT! It was my favorite from the entire year and I made my spread without the letter stickers since they hadn't arrived in time for the design team to use them.
Week 32b (using a combination of all of the Cuppa kits):
You can tell from this second image how well all of the kits coordinate. I was able to use ONLY the PL kit on the first spread and then used a combination of all of the kits on the second spread and they match perfectly. The Cuppa scrapbook kit is still also available and I used quite a bit of it on this spread.
The next two spreads are both weeks from last December. I had good intentions to make a December Daily and I never did. So I'm left with several weeks to still do. I'm glad though as both the November and the December PL kits have several holiday options! These two are made primarily with the Cuppa kit add ons: Gingerbread and Cinnamon Spice. I also used the PL add-on holiday card set and the Peppermint stamp set add-on (which is still available). So much holiday goodness in this collection and if you click on those links, there are some still available for purchase. If you missed out on these holiday kits, there are a couple of holiday add on kits for December as well you can see in the peek images here. Full kit reveal is on November 27th.
Project Life Week 50a 2012:
Project Life Week 50b 2012:
I also needed two spreads for this week, so I used a full spread plus an insert. These photos show one side of the insert and one side of the spread. What can I say about this problem - I just take way too many photos!!! But I love that I'm actually using them for once! Staying caught up on PL makes you scrap those photos and it feels oh so good to have it done!
I used some of my leftover holiday kit supplies to make this wrapped gift and tag:
I used the Peppermint stamp set to stamp the holly and berries on the inside of a Trader Joes brown bag (great way to recycle!). To make the tag, I used a cut file from the Cuppa Holiday Phrase Cut Files - they are a great way to add a lot to a project with very little expense. Especially if you are mass producing a card or tag!
Speaking of digital files, I often take the print files by SC and change the colors. Using the November print files HERE and HERE, I changed the colors in Photoshop Elements using the paintbrush tool. You can choose a color you like from either the color pallete or another item on the printables using the dropper tool. Then you just use the paintbrush tool to click on the item you want to change - it's so easy! This is a combination of several of those print files recolored and resized for my holiday scrapping. I also included some of the digital stamps (and these) by adding color to them as well (you can color to each area seperately). Maybe I should do a blog post about recoloring printables and digital stamps. Any interest?
I hope you are all enjoying the PL process this year. I hope you are going to continue next year. Don't let getting behind stop you. I AM BEHIND! I still have about 12 weeks to go for 2013 that I'm behind on. But I'm not worried as I started this year with quite a few weeks undone for last year and I have all but about three weeks in December done now. So I was able to catch up. The important thing to remember is, have the pictures dated on your computer easily assesible and have notes written down in a calendar or whatever works for you for each week of the year. Then just like with scrapbooking, you can go back and get it done later. Combine weeks, leave out weeks, make a layout for certain weeks - there are NO RULES - just document life! (oh no, I sound like a Becky Higgins commercial). You can tell I really believe in this process. One and a half years later, I'm a big fan and LOVE my albums! And if you need some motivation, go to this LINK and buy a kit or two - I promise you will find the process much easier using a kit of products that all go together!
Happy weekend - enjoy it! xoxoxo
Your pages are fabulous. They are so colorful and full of life! Such an inspiration! ♥
