Paper Piecing Tutorial

Today on the My Favorite Things blog, I have a tutorial on paper piecing with details on how I made this Christmas card:

This card was made using my second stamp set released in October called Sweet Little Christmas. It is sold on the My Favorite Things website here. I hope you will check out the detailed turorial today on the MFT blog as it is a really fun technique to do with your stamps. It gives you another option for adding color and patterns to each part of a stamped image instead of coloring it.

I hope you are all having a great week! I have had a bit of a tough one - lots of prayers needed on this end!!! I found out last weekend that my sweet sister has a brain tumor too! How this happened twice in one family I have NO idea. Two sisters = two tumors. I have eradicated mine from the home it occupied for years. But she has to go through that hellish experience on her own on December 16th. And this surgery will cause her to have to relearn to walk and talk and possibly loose some functioning on her right side. But we do not think it is cancer, nor was mine - so in that is the good news. But I have learned from my brain tumor removal surgery, that all is not well once you get that baby out. Then comes the recovery process which can be long and arduous and possibly NEVER over. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy - especially NOT my best friend and only sister.

Anyone want to run away to Bora Bora with me? I really don't even know where it is, but I have always wanted to stay in one of those little bungalows over the ocean. Is that where they are? If not, please enlighten me as I want to make sure I take the right bus! Something like THIS:

I subscribe to your blog for the inspiration, but I don't usually comment, since I don't have more to say than, "OMGOSH, you're amazing!" Today, though, I do want to stop by and tell you that I'm so sorry your sister has to go through that. I agree that there is something wrong about 2 people in your family having a tumor. There should definitely be a "one terrible thing per family" rule in life. : ( I'm glad they don't think it's cancerous, and I hope her recovery makes her stronger & that she has peace as she waits for the surgery.
