SHARING HAPPY THOUGHTS
I have some VERY exciting news to announce (for me) and (hopefully for you too)! I can finally share my doodles!!! For the past year, I have been doodling all kinds of words, pictures, and inspirational quotes. I have been asked by many if they could purchase my doodles. I always felt so bad that I didn't have a way to share them.
Recently, the stamp company called My Favorite Things approached me to design stamps for them - of my doodles! I was soooo excited as this is definitely a dream come true for me in many ways! My first stamp set called Celebrate Life is going up for sale at 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 3rd on the MFT website. And with that introduction, here it is:
I designed this set to be used for project life, scrapbook pages, as well as greeting cards. I will be showing you projects using the set each day for the next six days until it goes up for sale. The amazingly talented MFT design team will be showing projects using it this Friday, August 30th. Hopefully we will motivate you to want this set in YOUR stamp collection! Here are some project life cards I created with three of the stamps in the set:
Supplies: Celebrate Life Stamp Set, black ink, Copic markers, Studio Calico project life cards, sequins, washi tape, watercolors
I used the "love you" sentiment inside a heart shape on a project life card. I colored it in with Copic markers, added some sequins and some journaling and it is ready to use in my PL spread. I think this stamp is the most versatile in the set and I'll show more ways to use it in the next few days.
For this card, I started with a 4x6 piece of watercolor paper. I painted the background with a wash of several colors of watercolors all blended together. I stamped the be-you-tiful sentiment on the top with black ink and colored it in with Copic markers. I trimmed underneath the word and then slipped my photo under it so it overlaps it. Last, I added some sequins and washi (my two favorite staple products!).
For this last card, I cut a piece of white cardstock to be 4" wide x 3" tall to fit in a standard PL horizontal pocket. I stamped the "recording memories" sentiment in the center and colored it in with markers. I then used a black Micron marker to add some additional text and details. Last I added my beloved sequins to finish it off.
I'll show a full project life spread using all three of these cards this week (as well as others). I hope you enjoyed this first little preview of the stamps in use. I'll have a new set or two released each month - so stay tuned for lots more of my doodles to come! (Next month is a Christmas set and I love it!).
Thank you for visiting and supporting my love of doodling and thank you to MFT for asking me to be part of their wonderful company - it truly is a dream come true for me! suzy

How exciting. I've tried to doodle but I'm no where near as good as you are Suzy so I'm super excited about the news. Do you use copic markers to color in your images? What ink do you like? Maybe you can put together a video to show how you create such beautiful artwork...Can't wait to see the Christmas edition too!
Congratulations!!
