Not sayin' that the winner is a monster. And I really apologize for not announcing the monster, I mean winner on Friday as I said I would. I became obsessed with cleaning and organizing my office which really involved cleaning and organizing my dining room as well. My supplies had spilled over... I decided if they don't fit into my rather small office, they will no longer reside in our home. So purging is in process!
Anyway, back to the winner. I was so pleased and LOVED all the nice comments on my American Crafts blog post below. You were all so nice to compliment my work and it made me very happy! Thank you for taking the time to brighten my day!

Miss Tina, please send me an email with your home address and I will mail you LOTS of American Crafts products. It will help me with my purging mood! Thanks again to all that entered!
And now on to the Monster business. Have any of you seen the September/October issue of Creating Keepsakes yet? If so, there is an article called The Scrapbook Monster Mash. I was asked to make an opener to the article using some monster stamps. But NO! I refused said stamps and went with some of my own monster creations. And let me tell you, this assignment was one of the most fun things I have done in a long time. Because the article deals with mixed media type techniques, I tried to incorporate many of the techniques in this opener.
I started by drawing the monsters and the title with a Micron black pen. I then colored them in and colored the background using Copic markers. Next I started adding the mixed media products. I used glitter glue, sequins, pearls and rhinestones, drops of spray mist, and some pearlescent paints over parts of the monsters. I also designed a few to go inside the article.
On one of these, I used Fiber Paste as the background with markers over it. On others I used glittler glue and rubbed it around with my fingers to make the background more shiny. I also used some Crackle Medium on one. These were made to house little subtitles throughout the article. They are available for download on the CK website HERE.
So with that, I hope you have all had a monster free day! I am on my way upstairs to check for monsters as my daughter just heard a noise and thinks someone is up there. I hope "it" is as cute as some of these guys and I'll make it a pet! My favorite is the blue one on the bottom of the main page. Which one would YOU want to adopt?!?!?!
Suzy

I have a thing for stripes, so I would adopt the "cyclops."
On purging, how do you do it? I have a million ideas for every single item, not enough time, but still can't managed to let anything go.

Ok, I've always thought you needed to do a book to demonstrate all your fantastic skills and techniques - but now I think you need your own product line! Your stuff would be so cute! A scrapbook company would be silly not to swoop you up! You're the best! :O)
