First off, the great news! I was asked to be on the Creating Keepsakes Dream Team again this year. This is my fourth year and I'm so glad they keep me around. It is the best gig I've ever had in the industry and I really AM going to retire when it's all over. They have the announcement on their blog today. They kept the same three contributing writers and most of the same Dream Team members this year so I get to work with the same amazing girls! Thank you CK for keeping me in the industry one more year!!!
Next, I would like to announce that I am back to scrapping! I actually made THREE two page layouts for CK in the past two days - so proud of myself! I haven't had any time to doodle though, so I will have to find a way to fit both in to keep myself happy! Thanks for all the nice comments on my doodle quotes!
This is a page I made about a month ago. The pictures are from my niece's wedding. She just had her first baby and he is so adorable! I took pictures of him at seven days old last week, so I wanted to post a couple of them as well. And yes, he has RED hair too!
Some people have asked me how I twirl my twine on layouts. This layout was a lift of my layout from a few weeks ago called Makena Beach. In this one, I used four 4x6 photos instead of one 12x8 photo. I use a fine tip wet glue like Scotch and I just apply a bit at a time working in small areas. I freehand the swirls as I go, but you could draw them with pencil first. The twine swirls easily on it's own and you just lay it on top of the glue and keep going until it is all covered. Just don't use TOO much glue - keep it a very thin line. I am so addicted to twine - it might be my favorite scrapbook product ever!
Here is the darling newborn:
After doing two newborn baby shoots, I have really increased my respect for newborn photographers. It is so hard! My first attempt was with twins, so that might have been some of the problem. That shoot made me decide I will never be a professional photographer! But this little guy was easier (younger) and he smiled in his sleep (ok, maybe gas, but it looked like a smile), so he was just a joy to photograph!
Have a great weekend!!! Suzy
look at all those BEAUTIFUL red heads! I LOVE red hair and sadly none of my children have it, keeping my fingers crossed for grandkids! :) GREAt layout--thank for the tip on the twine, now I have to try that! :) GREAT shots of your nephew he is ADORABLE! oh, and CONGRATS on the DT gig!! :)
