Layouts....

I thought I would share some layouts I have recently made for this or that. This first one was on the American Crafts blog a few weeks ago. I really liked how it turned out. I used the back sides of some of their papers to make the sun rays. This is all the new Margarita line.

This next layout was made for Kelly Purkey's online sketch class she did a few weeks ago. 

This next layout was made for Karen Grunberg's blog called Creative Therapy. I am the guest designer for their current catalyst which is "what is one lesson you would give a married couple". And this is my layout with my lesson/advice on it:

I think I should be a marriage counselor. I don't have a degree in psychology, but I think my degree in experience would make me a great one! Besides telling couples to love the one you are with (or make it work!), I would also say several other things. Accept and love your spouse for who they are and don't try to change them. Only work on changing yourself because we can all improve. And my next big piece of advice would be to chill! I peronsally believe that people get upset over little issues WAY too often - in marriage, as a parent and in friendships. I always say, pick your battles on the things that really matter and let the rest go. Which brings me to my last piece of advice - forgive and forget. Treat each day like a new start and let go of all the hurts, anger and disappointments. And my favorite marriage comment of all time which is stated in the journaling is "love is a decision". So decide to love and nurture your love and most importantly, enjoy your love!

Ok, marriage counseling session over. Let's see what else I can dig up to share... Ahhh, here is one more - an Easter layout that I made a while ago using my Slice. This is a hybrid layout - I printed the photos and journaling on white cardstock and then added all the other elements to complete it.

And that is all I have to share today. I made one of my favorite projects ever this week for the January issue of CK. It was so much fun to make because I pulled out all my paints and my mists and went crazy creating in a really messy/artsy way. And in the process, I found my mojo that had been missing! 

Hope you are all having a great week! We are in the middle of all kinds of year end school events this week and next week. Our summer officially starts next Friday. And I talked to Mr. Thane today on his way to Argentina - he was originally leaving on Tuesday, but his flight got cancelled due to a volcano over there. So as we speak he is up in the air flying far far away. It was so fun talking to him, but his voice sounded different from all the Spanish he has been speaking. Ok, off to bed - bye bye!!! Suzy

Thank you for all the advice, I agree with all of it. It's taken me time to get past wanting a perfect marriage and perfect children, now I embrace the imperfections we have in our lives. I love Karen G. and took both her classes this year, that's why I was so busy and didn't visit you Suzy. She is the greatest thing that could have happened to me. I still follow her blog and hope she has more classes in the future. Ok, enough about that onto your layouts. They are stunning as always. You always have bright happy colorful pages. The first one is my favorite but it is hard to choose just one. Good luck with the end of the school activities. We are a week &half into our summer vacation and loving it.
