Pretty Spooky Layout!

A few months ago I got an assignment from Creating Keepsakes to create an elegant, yet spooky Halloween layout. So I got busy and came up with this: This might be the most creative and time consuming layout I have ever made! So here is the low down on the techniques I used: I created the fireplace by cutting a mantel out of chipboard, then covering it with black paper, then covering it with black lace, then adding black velvet trim to the top edge and the bottom edges, then using my glue gun to attach hanging beads along the bottom and then adding a piece of white fringe to the bottom inside edge that I sprayed with silver and... American Crafts Blog...

I have a couple of cards on the American Crafts blog today. It is my first time to be on there-pretty exciting for little ol' me!!! I was asked to make a card using my favorite technique. Well, lately, it has been punches. Border punches particularly. I can't get enough of them. This obsession shall be blamed on my friend Lisa Vanderveen who started it with her obsession for punches which somehow transfered over to me... Here is a sneak peek of the two cards I made. American Crafts Layouts

Finally a little scrapping is getting done over here! I made these two pages using lots of American Crafts goodies! This first page is called Sunshine Day - does that remind you of a Brady Bunch song? Sing it with me - It's a Sunshine DaaAAaAy!!!!!. Now you will have it stuck in your mind like I do (unless you are too cool to watch Brady Bunch reruns over the years). I used this really AWESOME punch I recently bought on the top of my photos. Nature Photos

I love photography. I really want to learn more about taking great photos, so if you have a favorite website about photography (or of excellent photographs), could you please leave me a comment and point me in that direction? I recently discovered Becker's photography blog and I love it - his pictures are amazing!!! Today I was at my Father In Law's house in Rancho Palos Verdes. It's Over...

Summer is officially over. I sent my two sweeties off to school today. Sad sad mommy. Well, I was super sad the week leading up to today anyway ... but today, I just enjoyed a long walk with Mayzie and am thinking a little free time to get something done might be nice! I wanted the day before school started to be special, so we went to Disneyland yesterday. I have always hated DL because it is always so hot and crowded. Since the girls are older now and I wouldn't have to do Toontown, I thought maybe I would learn to like DL since everyone else in the world does. I said I would go on ALL the rides... Read more →

Happy Me...

This picture makes me happy. It totally represents my summer with the girls. We went to Santa Barbara for a couple of days this week. Tom took this right after dinner at CPK in my favorite photo spot there. And I love it. Because we are all laughing like we always do. And because I have so few pictures of me with my girls. So yes, HAPPY ME, even though summer is drawing to a close. I promise to get some pages made with my Suzy Kit soon!!! (after they leave me to go to school that is)!!!
