Scrapbooking Challenge...

A good friend of mine visited yesterday and we met at Scrapbook Oasis to buy some new CHA products. Later, we were chatting about scrapbooking and I realized something. I would probably never scrapbook if I didn't do it for a job. I'm sure I would find other things that kept me too busy to allow myself to justify the time.

What motivates me to scrapbook is that I love a challenge - whether it is to work with a set group of products, a manufacturers products for a design team, or a specific page assignment from CK. And back when there were lots of contests, I loved entering them simply for the challenge of producing the best work I was capable of (while trying to improve).

Which all means what exactly? I have pretty albums to show for it. So it's not a waste of time, right? And I love doing it - it is never a burden, so I couldn't find a better thing to do to bring in a little income. But sometimes, I think it is fun to scrap with my favorite products just for ME ... not caring who I please with my pages. And I don't often make time for that.

So, with that long introduction, I will get to my point. I thought it would be fun to put together some of my new products into a "Suzy Kit" of sorts and work on pages/projects with ONLY these products. It brings the challenge into scrapbooking some pages for myself. And I love working with kits that have many different manufacturers products in them - it is so much fun to think of unique ways and techniques to combine them.

Here is my Suzy September Kit and photos of the products by manufacturer. Almost all of these products were purchased at Scrapbook Oasis on Saturday and they have an online website as well as a store front. I really try to purchase all my products from them to help with business since they are my favorite store of all time and I want them to be around for a long, long, time to come! Of course it is colorful, fun, happy and whimsical since that is the style of products I am always drawn to!

First are three papers and a set of rub ons by Crate Paper (I love their Restoration Collection - it was so hard to limit it to just these items):

Next, Echo Park from their Life Is Good line. They are seriously my favorite new manufacturer - love how they have a new line out every single month! And Life Is Really Good, so I thought it was an appropriate line to include!

So that is all is my friends. I have gained great respect for kit clubs. It is sooo hard to keep it to just a minimum number of products representing lots of different manufacturers.

And now, let the creating began... I will try to post some pages this week. As you can probably tell by my lack of blogging lately, I am spending most of my time with the girls and summer is almost over (wahhhhhhh!!!!!). But I'll try to be back soon now that I have a challenge set up by ME! Anyone want to join in? now see, I can't wait to see what you come up with, cause I look at all of this and see prettiness, but not a 'page'. I think I've gotten so used to pre-coordinated sets from one manufactuerer I have forgotton how to 'do it myself'! Show me how you do it, girl!
