Yeah baby! They asked me to stay for another year. That was a happy day! So you all have to put up with me for a while longer (as long as they will keep me actually!). Here is the 2010 CK Dream Team with links to each of their blogs:
Cindy Tobey - She is one of my favorite scrappers ever - so creative and artistic! And a great friend too!
Deena Wuest - Simply amazing digital pages that always impress me!
Jen Jockisch - Have just discovered her work and I adore her whimsical, layered fun style!
Kim Watson - Wow - she is impressive - she knows how to mix products perfectly!
Laura Vegas - Love her graphic style with little pops of interest added here and there!
Maggie Holmes - Dare I say she is my favorite scrapper? I adore everything she creates!
Sara Winnick - Bold graphic pages just the way I admire, but have no clue how to create!
Susan Weinroth - The cutest friend I have who makes the most beautiful quilts, the most beautiful babies, and has the cutest puppy in the world! Love her colorful fun graphic style!
Suzy Plantamura - Hmmm....what to say - she ROCKS MY WORLD!!!
Wendy Sue Anderson - I've admired her work for years - amazing photos, graphic designs perfectly put together with color and a bit of flair!
Here is my story of receiving our prize packages: Imagine me on day three or four of being in bed with the swine flu. It wasn't a pretty sight. I rolled out of bed for some unknown reason to take a walk downstairs (never seem to remember WHY I am going even after I get there). I see THREE rather large boxes on the front porch. My husband gets deliveries almost every day, so I didn't dare get my hopes up too high. Not that it would have taken much to excite me on this specific day. I open the door and MY NAME IS ON THE BOXES! If you know me, you know how much I love to get product delivered to my door and it hasn't happened in quite a while!
I opened all three boxes like the piggy I was at the moment making the biggest mess ever. They were filled with so many amazing products!!! I had never seen anything quite like this before. I had received lots of products when I won Masters and HOF, but nothing like this! It was the perfect thing to pull me out of the groggy half alive state I had been in for days. After throwing everything all over the living room floor, I rolled back into bed completely exhausted.
I sent the CK Editors a message telling them how excited I was. I received a message back saying there were MORE BOXES ON THE WAY! Are you kidding me? The next day, three more boxes arrived and these were even bigger and better than the first three! Oh my goodness. Again, I just tossed everything all over the floor (at this point, things were landing on my children, the dog and the furniture as the floor was completely covered). I wish I had taken pictures as it was the most crazy awesome mess I have ever seen. Every day after that, I would drag my sick tired body downstairs and start sorting, playing and adoring all these goodies. It was the best thing ever for my recovery!!! I finally got most of it cleaned up and the girls and I have had so much fun playing with it all.
Here is a list with links to all of the manufacturers who donated products. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! (I really can't thank you enough). They were so generous and I plan on making it worth their amazing generosity by using everything that was sent to me on future projects on my blog and for publication. I have already started submitting work to CK with lots of my new goodies...

Just leave me a post on this blog entry that tells me what you like or want to see more of in Creating Keepsakes Magazine this year. Do you have any subjects you would like to see articles about? Do you wish certain techniques were highlighted more? If you had a chance to tell the CK Editors exactly what you would like to see in their magazine each month, what would it be? On Monday, I will do a random drawing of one of the comments and send that person a big box of yumminess!
Happy Day, Happy Day, Happy Day!!! Off to do some creating! Suzy
woohoo! Suzy, I saw your name in my CK mag this morning and was SO THRILLED for you! I have adored your work since I saw your Love Elsie stuff! As for what I'd tell the CK editors.. hmm... I am a LO girl, so I'd like to see more LOs (especially techniques on misting, masking). Congrats again to you! Glad you're on the mend! :)

I'm all about more layouts. That's what I sub to the magazine for - more and more layouts.

First of all...CONGRATS! Second, I'd love to see more focus on two things: using up scraps, and multiple uses for a single product, like what Jennifer McGuire has done in the past.

Congratulations! You totally deserve it. I have been a subscribing member to CK for several years. I would really like to see some more detailed, layered layouts. They always seem to include SIMPLE layouts in their entire magazine. I know there's a need for that because you need to appeal to all levels of scrapbookers, but with the talent pool they have to draw from (yourself included) we should be seeing some busier projects. Techniques are always good and welcome. I miss the challenge article where they selected a few different scrappers and had them use the same product. It was fun to see the different ways it was incorporated into their projects.

congratulations :) i'd like to see more of scrappers scrapbook rooms (it's my guilty pleasure). and i always thought it would be really neat if they featured a group crop or something like it - - ideas on what to pack/how to pack, ideas on organizing your layouts before you get there, ideas on how to host your own crop for friends, ideas on putting together a make-and-take type thing that you can feature at your crop, and of course . . . .pictures pictures pictures! congrats again and I HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR STASH :)

Congratulations Suzy! I was super excited for you when I saw that you were on that list :) I already love the inspiration I get from CK every month, but I'd definitely love to see more techniques (I second the glimmer mist!) and I always love inspiration for travel pages, using memorabilia / ephemera and cool twists on how to use different products (like combining chipboard, flowers and frames or something like that).

Congratulations! And I'm glad you found the secret to kicking the swine flu's rear end!
I would like to see more tips on incorporating technology into scrapbooking.
Thanks!

Congrats first of all! I would like to see more in-depth layouts, like some of the others said. Things like layering and more advanced methods. I get really tired of all the beginner stuff and have even considered stopping my subscriptions. People's craft rooms or even better their organization methods is also a guilty pleasure of mine!
Posted by: Laurie | November 05, 2009 at 03:09 PM
