I am not a big fan of theme parks. I don't like to stand in lines. I don't like to be hot. I don't like to stand in lines while I am hot. I don't like big crowds. I can't ride most of the rides because they make me dizzy. So I do everything I can to avoid theme parks.
Sophie decided instead of having a party this year, she wanted to go to Knott's Berry Farm with a friend to celebrate her birthday. Unfortunately for mommy, her birthday fell on the same weekend as our long planned sleep over at SeaWorld with her Brownie troop.
So we started the fun filled weekend at Knott's Berry Farm on Friday. I hadn't been there in years. I highly recommend it - it is the perfect park for middle aged children. There are so many cool roller coasters which Sophie loves. They had it all decorated for Halloween which made it even more fun. And the best part? No lines! We walked right on to every ride. The girls would ride some over and over and not even get off. I learned that I can enjoy theme parks when it is a nice semi-cool October day and the park is fairly empty.
Here is one of the roller coasters Tom took Sophie on (she has no fear) called Silver Bullet. Yes, they are upside down.
This one is called Ghost Rider and it is very rickety! As you can see, they are the only ones on the ride - scary!!!
The girls favorite ride was Bigfoot Rapids - I think they rode it six times in a row (and they were very wet!).
This roller coaster was just crazy. It is called Perilous Plunge and you go straight down a very tall drop and end up in this (Tom is in the back row left side):
This one was called Pony Express (Chloe's favorite). This was my attempt at a panning shot. The girls are behind the lady in the pink shirt.
Knotts Scary Farm! I loved how there were these ghost decorations every where. I want to make some for my yard! The pumpkin banner at the top was also part of the Halloween decorations.
I didn't go on most of the roller coasters. But I did ride this one called Timber Mountain Log Ride. I figured it would be tame since it has been there forever! But as you can see from my face (and non-lady like sitting position), I was very scared as we plunged into the water below. I screamed so much I almost lost my voice!
And the best part of going to Knott's Berry Farm (I sound like a commercial here) is the price! It was only $30 per person to get in with a coupon from Smart and Final and compared to Disneyland tickets, that is pretty good!
I will have to do another blog post tomorrow about my crazy two days camping at SeaWorld. Have a great day! Suzy
sophie and i would have a great time together there! ;) looks like a great time - i haven't been there in years either. i might have to check it out sometime! i hope sophie had a very happy birthday!

would you happen to know what type of fabric those ghosts were made from? I know they're not from cheesecloth.
