Hello Lovely Ladies! Today I am excited to be a part of a Studio Calico blog hop for a contest they are holding with ALL KINDS OF AMAZING PRIZES! To be entered to win a prize in this contest, all you have to do is download this adorable fall printable from the Studio Calico website HERE - pretty easy, huh?!?!?!
This contest is called #SCInspires and Studio Calico is giving away over $1,400 in prizes drawn from the people who download the printable. The prizes get bigger and bigger the more the #scinspires hashtag is used. To increase the prizes available, just use the #scinspires hashtag on social media (Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and Twitter) as many times as possible. SC will update everyone each Friday on their blog as to how the contest is progressing.
Before you hop off to the next blog, I want to talk a little about how Studio Calico inspires ME and offer you a give-a-way if you leave a comment on this post about how Studio Calico inspires YOU. One of the many ways SC inspires me is by constantly having new, exciting, innovative designers create products for them. I have recently been in a bit of a creative rut. SC has pulled me out of that rut by adding some new products by Ashley Goldberg to go with the paint.plan.play class she is teaching in November. I am SO excited about this class that I had to order every single item she has made that is in the shop. Her work has totally inspired me and makes me really excited to create again. SC never fails in finding new designers and product offferings that make me so excited to play with my supplies and make time for this satisfying hobby we all enjoy.
I received my Ashley Goldberg products just a couple days ago, but I already made time to make a layout using her adorable letter stamps. These letters are BIG and are my favorite stamp alphabet I have seen in many years.
I first created a background for my layout using a bunch of cut out letters. I stamped them on white cardstock using my Color Theory inks (love all the new bright colors!). I find cutting very therapudic, so I find excuses to cut things out. Which means my Silhoette is a little dusty! Then I stitched them on to a piece of 12x12 Letterpress paper - my favorite paper for white backgrounds as it holds paint and mist so well without warping.
With such a busy background, I kept the design fairly simple with just one 4x6 photo that supported the theme of all the alphabet letters. I started with the design first on this layout and then found a picture that worked well with it which is backwards from my usual method of scrapbooking!
I used a piece of the Ashley Goldberg 6x8 paper from THIS SET (love, love, love!). I also used the AG washi tape HERE, and her pinwheel wood veneer shapes HERE colored with NEOCOLORS and last, the gold rub-ons HERE.
To celebrate today with all of you, I want to give away THE UNDERGROUND project life kit to a lucky commenter on this blog post. The contest runs until October 31st at 11:59 EST, so I will draw a name from the comment section of this post on November 1st. Only one comment per person please. I can't wait to read about how SC inspires all of YOU.
Next on the list is JULIE CAMPBELL - Happy Blog Hopping! Suzy
