Today starts the seven day New Product Countdown for the March product releases for My Favorite Things. They have lots of happy spring products this release which will hopefully cheer those on the east coast who are still getting snow storms. I love spring - eveything about it. But especially the colors. Pinks, soft blues, and yellows are my favorite colors, so making spring cards is really fun!
Here is my new spring set called Spring Has Sprung:
This set works a little differently than my past sets in my Sunny Day Doodles line. It has flat images to add color behind the outline images. It's kind of a two step stamping concept. I stamped the outlines first and then I stamped the colored image over it. The colored images are larger than the outline stamps, so they give a really cute, whimsical look to the stamps.
The set has a pot, three different flowers, two little birds, a title (Hello Spring), and a greeting for the inside of a card. Each of these items has the colored stamps to go with them. You can use them as I did above with the colors behind them, or you can use them just as outlines and color them in yourself. I'll show you examples of that tomorrow. I also used the new Blueprints 13 Die-namics on this card for the two large tags.
I used an oval Die-namic from the Stitched Oval Stax and part of a border from the Dainty Dots Border Die-namics. The greeting is from my new Spring Has Sprung stamp set. I cut a flower and leaves out from the stamps as well.
For this card, I stamped three of the flowers in the set and cut around the edges. I used one of the little birds as well. I added a tag from the new Blueprints 13, a stamped border from my last set called Borders and Accents, an LLD Insert It - 3x4 Notepad, a rectangle from the Blueprints 6 set, and a darling little fence from the new Die-namics Sunflower Sweetheart set.
I used the two step approach for the Happy Spring sentiment on the inside. I added another little bird and a border from my last set. I finished it with a Small Scalloped Border Die-namics.
I will be sharing more creations using the March MFT releases all week so come. You can visit each of the DT members blogs to see more inspiration linked on the MFT blog. The New Product Release will be on March 11th at 7:00 pm pst. See you tomorrow! suzy
