Today is the second day of the My Favorite Things Release Rewind where the DT shows all of the new products that were released in use again. All of the products went on sale on the MFT website on Tuesday, January 10th, so they are now available for purchase!
Today I made a layout using my new set Love It as well as some other sets that were released.
I wanted to show how to make your own patterned paper with stamps - pretty obvious of course, but worth a reminder. I cut wavy designs in some pieces of cardstock and patterned paper. On the solid papers, I added stamped designs as shown in the close up photos below.
The top piece is made from Electric Red cardstock. I stamped the "xoxoxo" stamp from the Love' the Ticket stamp set. First I stamped it in Sweet Tooth ink and while it was still a bit wet, I rubbed it with my finger to smear the ink and soften the design. Then I restamped over the first set with Wild Cherry ink.
I used the heart from my stamp set for the top paper on Bubblegum cardstock. I used Wild Cherry Ink again. I colored the hearts in with Copics. For the next paper, I stamped the line of hearts from the Loves The Ticket set again using gold ink horizontally. Then I stamped over them with the little diagonal lines stamp from the same set running diagonally. The next paper is red cardstock using the flower from my set with Sweet Tooth ink. And the last paper uses the "xoxoxo" stamp from Mona's Distressed Hearts stamp set with Wild Cherry ink.
I love how mixing these handmade papers with regular patterned paper gave this layout a quilted look. I also added stitching between each layer.
The sentiment is from my Love It set colored in with Copics. I attached some cream colored sequins between each layer in little groupings.
Any one going to CHA? I'll be there on Saturday or Sunday (not sure yet) and Monday. Hope to see you if you are there! What new products did you pick up from MFT? Hope you all have a great weekend! suzy
