There are five more days until the MFT January release. Each day, they show some of their new products on the MFT blog. Then the Design Team makes things showing that day's release. So don't forget to check out all the amazing products AND projects each day until they go on sale on January 7th at 10:00 pm pst.
Today I have a card to share with you. I made this almost entirely with my new set - Love It.
I have to say - I'm kind of fond of this new set! As I said yesterday, I love PINK and I love Valentines Day! But one of the reasons I like this set is because it has images as well as words. I wanted to show you some ways to use the images to make your own patterned paper.
For the background of this card, I started with Bubblegum cardstock. I like this color as it is a little more on the coral side. The next thing I did is pull out my new Blueprints 11 Die-namic set and used the large rectangle. I die cut both a red piece and a white piece. I then took the white one and die-cut a scallop edged smaller rectangle from the Blueprints 1 set right in the center. This allowed the outside edge to act as a frame which I used on the inside of the card. I cut two white ovals from the Pierced Oval Stax Die-namics for the sentiments on the inside and outside of the card.
Now I was ready to stamp! I used the small flower stamp in my new Love It set and stamped it over and over on the pink cardstock base using Pink Lemonade ink (it is the lightest pink shade MFT sells). Then I cut one of the small circles from the side of the small heart stamp and stamped that around the flowers using Wild Cherry Ink. I stamped the small circle in the designs below around the edges of the white scalloped rectangle.
These three little designs came together to create the entire background for my sentiment. I stamped it in the Wild Cherry Red ink and added some flowers and dots around it. The last step was my favorite - I used a few of my Copic markers to color in the designs and add light subtle shading to others. I then used a White Uniball to add some dots where the small circles were around the flower. I outlined the two rectangles with a red fine tip marker.
For the inside of the card, I placed the outside border from the scallop edged white rectangle over the red rectangle to form a frame. I then stamped the small heart with dots from my set all over the red using the Sweet Tooth white ink. I stamped the Be Mine sentiment on the second smaller rectangle using Wild Cherry Ink and then colored in the details again.
I hope you enjoyed this card today using my new Sunny Day Doodles set! How is every one's new year going so far?!?!??! Ok, it's only been two days, but I've already broken all of my new years goals - not so sure why I set them. But I'm hoping when my kids go back to school next week, I can get my butt in gear! Have a good weekend friends and I'll be back tomorrow with another project! xo suzy
